ACADEMIC POSITION IN HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY

 

The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine in the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is recruiting an individual with a focus in genitourinary (GU) malignancies for a faculty position.  We expect that this individual will hold an academic appointment in the Department of Medicine.  She/he will report to the Chief of Hematology/Oncology and be expected to have administrative, clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities in the UT Health Cancer Center, one of the nation’s NCI-Designated Cancer Centers with over a 40-year tradition of excellence in development of new cancer therapies, understanding cancer biology, and decreasing the burden of suffering from Cancer in San Antonio and South Texas. 

 

The successful candidate would join a thriving multidisciplinary GU cancer practice and be able to leverage world class scientific collaborations and robust infrastructure for investigator initiated and population based clinical trials.  Individuals with expertise in renal cancer, bladder cancer, or prostate cancer and testicular cancer are preferred and will be expected to contribute to the clinical and research programs of our multidisciplinary GU practice.  Candidates should hold an M.D. or M.D./PhD and be board certified/eligible in Medical Oncology and eligible for licensure by the Texas Medical Board.
