Genomics Scientist II
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will design, conduct, and interpret complex experiments with strong genomics knowledge. You will use diverse genomic approaches and innovative new technologies to solve complex scientific challenges and improve process. The successful candidate will demonstrate a sustained high level of technical and communication skills. As part of Genomics and Sequencing team at Bayer Crop Science, you will partner with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver business outcomes and fully embrace Dynamic Shared Ownership at Bayer.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Genomics Scientist II, are to:
Deliver project needs as a hands-on primary researcher by understanding individual project deliverables working with the partners and all teams involved; Conduct custom and production extraction from diverse tissues; Execute a variety of nucleic acid assays including next-generation sequencing library creation or quantitative RTPCR approaches as required; Generate and present effectively the scientifically solid results, conclusions and recommendations; Use analytics tools to communicate results and make data-driven decisions; Propose new ideas and the plan to overcome scientific & process challenges utilizing Bayer internal and external knowledge and resources;Mentor peers/colleagues in areas of expertise and demonstrates an expanded sphere of technical influence;Be a role model for demonstrating flexible mindset to identify new opportunities with the teams.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
B.S. Degree;Demonstrated hands-on experience and technical knowledge in RNA expression assays;Solid understanding of data QC criteria in designing and interpretating data;Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. Degree; ORM.S. Degree plus minimum 5 years in Genomics or related research field; OR B.S. Degree plus minimum 7 years in Genomics or related research field is required. Proficient knowledge in Laboratory Information Management System; Experience in using analytics tool such as SpotFire.
