Job Description
OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Geologist – Hydrogeology who will be responsible in carrying out hydrogeology activities and projects to support operational requirements, including ground and surface water monitoring and reporting, hydrogeological data management and analysis, uncontrolled underground water management, and support the Hydrogeology Supervisor. The role will be reporting to the Supervisor – Hydrogeology.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Conducts hydrogeological data collection, input, and data quality assurance/control including sampling, testing, and analysisFamiliarises with the installation and general maintenance of hydrogeological equipment and hydrological systemsAssists with the development, review, and implementation of the Inundation and Inrush Principal Hazard Management Plan (PHMP) and Water Management PlanReporting to stakeholdersQualificationsBehaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way;Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Geology;Licensed Geologist;Previous experience in Open Pit or Underground Geology or Hydrogeology will be well-regarded;Proficient in 3D software packages (Leapfrog, Modflow, Surpac, Deswik, Feflow, Aquifer Test Pro, QGIS, etc) will be well-regarded;Should possess a strong drive for health and safety management;With a valid Professional Driver’s License; andDrive for continuous improvement and innovation.Additional InformationHighly attractive remuneration package inclusive of health and life insurance benefitsGreat opportunities for career advancement with an international mining companyFriendly roster with great onsite foods, accommodation, and with transport from point of hire is provided for non-Didipio residentsProfessional development skills training opportunities providedOGC VALUES: CARE | RESPECT | INTEGRITY | PERFORMANCE | TEAMWORK
