Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Geologist to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. While this position requires both field and office work, the candidate should expect to spend 75% of their time in the field and this position does require 75% travel.
As an entry level Geologist, this full-time position within our Environment Group will help support the remediation group in Minnesota. This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic team and gain experience in a wide variety of environmental projects across diverse market sectors throughout the United States.

Role accountabilities:
In this role, your responsibilities will involve actively participating in field activities as part of a team. These activities include supporting drilling operations, which includes the installation of wells and providing descriptions of soil or rock. You will be responsible for conducting soil, groundwater, and air sampling in compliance with both State and Federal standards.
Another crucial aspect of your role will be data management tasks such as compiling, evaluating, and organizing data. You will provide support in writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda. You will contribute to the production of boring logs, figures, and maps to aid in the visual representation of project information.
Your core duties will include but not be limited to:
Field and office support which may include drilling oversight for soil sampling and/or groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation oversight, conducting pilots and full-scale remedial efforts, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys. Environmental remediation design tasks, including soil and groundwater remedial system and remedial design and assessments. Oversight of remediation activities, remedial system installations, and remedial construction. Assist Project Managers (PMs) and Assistant PMs (APMs) with planning environmental investigation and remediation tasks including site characterization, remedial design, and feasibility studies. Office work may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety preparation, development of technical reports, presentations, cost-estimates, and proposals, regulatory file review, proposal writing, project strategy development, scheduling, and budget estimationWe are seeking a dedicated team player with a professional growth mindset who demonstrates strict adherence to health and safety procedures. The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, and be self-motivated with independent thinking skills. Additionally, the ability to travel up to 75% is required for this position.
Candidates must also have a good driving record, be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and for extended periods. Field work may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes. Candidates must also be able to meet the physical demands associated with performing fieldwork, including lifting heavy equipment, working in a standing position for extended periods of time, etc.

Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related field (i.e., environmental science, physical science) 0-2 years of related work experience Continue your career journey as an Arcadian.Preferred Qualifications
Professional license (GIT) OSHA HAZWOPER 40 hr / 8 hr refresher training Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and small engine operation Strong experience working with MS Office Software Phase I and Phase II Due Diligence Experience through previous internships or employment

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
