Job Title: Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer with 0-1 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in geology, engineering geology, geological engineering, or civil engineering. This role involves significant travel and overnight stays, often to locations such as Harrisburg, Long Island, West Chester New York, Delaware, and Maryland. The successful candidate will work under the supervision and guidance of professional engineers and senior staff, and will be required to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

ResponsibilitiesPerform basic geophysical field surveys (e.g., electrical resistivity, ground penetrating radar, and utility locating).Observe and document geotechnical and geologic investigations (e.g., test borings, test pits, etc.) on project sites located throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Southern New York.Communicate with supervisors, clients, contractors, and other outside parties.Utilize Microsoft Office and 2D AutoCAD, and learn and operate company-developed desktop and mobile applications for day-to-day activities.Work under the supervision of professional engineers and senior staff.Essential Skills0-1 years of experience in a related field.Bachelor’s degree in geology, engineering geology, geological engineering, or civil engineering.Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and 2D AutoCAD.Additional Skills & QualificationsMaster’s degree in a related field is also acceptable.Internship experience is considered valuable.Experience with environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, geology, civil engineering, soil sampling, HAZWOPER, and sample testing.Work Environment

This role requires significant travel and overnight stays, with a majority of the time spent in the field. If a project involves a round trip of over four hours, hotel accommodations are recommended. Travel can vary from one day a week to several days depending on the project. Hotel stays will include a meal stipend. Office work will include meetings, training, lab testing, and other office-related tasks at our South Plainfield office.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $68000.00
