Job Summary:
As a Geologist at Bureau Veritas Philippines, you will be responsible for the on-site supervision and evaluation of geotechnical investigation activities to ensure the quality, reliability, and compliance of the data collected. You will work closely with construction project teams to provide expert geotechnical expertise and oversight, contributing to the successful delivery of civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
On-site Supervision:
Monitor and oversee the execution of geotechnical investigation activities, such as soil sampling, in-situ testing, and borehole drilling. Ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with relevant standards, methodologies, and project specifications. Verify the accuracy and quality of the data collected during the investigation. Identify and address any issues or deviations from the approved procedures. Maintain detailed records and documentation of the on-site supervision activities.Geotechnical Data Evaluation:
Review geotechnical investigation reports and data, including soil and rock samples, in-situ test results, and laboratory analysis. Assess the adequacy and reliability of the geotechnical information gathered. Identify any potential issues, discrepancies, or gaps in the data. Provide recommendations for further investigation, analysis, or remedial measures, if necessary. Collaborate with the project team to interpret the geotechnical data and its implications for design and construction.Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure that the geotechnical investigation activities comply with relevant standards, regulations, and Bureau Veritas' quality management system. Participate in the development and implementation of quality control procedures for geotechnical investigations. Assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation related to the geotechnical investigation works.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in geotechnical investigation, site supervision, and data evaluation. Proficient in interpreting and analyzing geotechnical data, including soil and rock properties, in-situ test results, and laboratory analysis. Strong technical writing and communication skills to effectively convey geotechnical findings and recommendations. Familiarity with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices in geotechnical engineering. Ability to work collaboratively with construction project teams and stakeholders. Willingness to travel to project sites and work in a field environment.
