ABOUT THE POSITION

Geomatics Survey Project Manager | Hybrid | Wethersfield, CT | Providence, RI

 

Join VHB’s dynamic and expanding New England region as a Geomatics Survey Project Manager and become a key player in our innovative Geomatics team. We are looking for a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional in Land Surveying to lead diverse projects, including boundary determinations, topographic surveys, utility surveys, highway surveys, and subdivisions.

 

This role demands an individual with a deep understanding of the latest technologies and a demonstrated track record of successfully managing land surveying projects. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and exhibit strong leadership and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Project management, including management of budget, scope, and schedule for small, moderate, and large land survey projectsManagement of project staff and clientsPerformance and/or oversight of surveying projectsAnalysis and interpretation of public records research, including deeds, plans and other pertinent documents for project needsPerform field checks, manage quality control of all maps, CAD files, tech data, etcCoordinate survey efforts with other groups in an integrated services environment

Skills and Attributes

Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of Land Surveying, including legal requirements, boundary determinations and ALTA requirementsProficient in reading and understanding engineering, architectural, and structural drawingsKnowledge of local subdivision and zoning requirementsAbility to direct and monitor construction layout servicesExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent teamwork and collaboration skillsMotivated to lead and mentor others 

Qualifications

10+ years of professional land surveying/geomatics experience, including managing land surveying projects requiredExperience with electronic instruments, field data collectors, Autodesk/Civil 3D software, and GPS hardware and software requiredHigh school diploma or GED requiredDegree in Survey Engineering, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, or related field preferredPLS license preferred
