We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transportation Leader to join our Atlanta, GA office and help expand Dewberry’s National Transportation practice into Georgia. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact, as the selected candidate will play a key role in staff professional development, growth, retention, and recruiting, as well as developing and executing client and business development strategies. This position will play a key role in executing Dewberry’s SE Transportation Growth initiative expanding our Transportation services throughout the southeast.

 

As a Transportation Leader, you will have the chance to collaborate with other business line leaders throughout the Southeast, work collectively on contracts and pursuits, and be heavily involved in mobilizing, energizing, and organizing cross-functional teams for success. 

 

The selected candidate must understand and have in-depth knowledge, experience, and client relationships in the Georgia transportation market including both public agencies and municipal governments.

Responsibilities Partner with operations and HR to recruit, retain, develop, and grow a high-performing, comprehensive transportation team. Motivate employees to support the company vision/goals. Ability to mobilize, energize, and organize cross-functional teams for success in winning and  delivering complex projects. Collaborate proactively and productively with other groups and company offices across the Southeast operating unit. Develop and execute business development strategies that drive revenue and profit margin growth. Attend industry events and build client relationships and teaming partnerships. Serve as a client manager for several public agencies.  Partner with marketing staff in driving client action plans, capture plans, and support in proposal writing and oversight. Serve as Project Manager for large, complex projects that require seasoned management skills.  Required Skills & Required Experience A BS in Engineering with 10+ years of highway or bridge engineering and project management experience. An MS Degree in Civil Engineering focused on transportation is a plus.  10 years of management experience leading a team of professionals in the Georgia transportation market. A Professional Engineer license in GA.  Proven expertise in managing and motivating high-performing teams and executing strategies that support regional and national goals.  Excellent strategic development, problem-solving, and project management skills.  A recognized leader in business development and client relationship development.  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.  Demonstrated project management success for projects for the following agencies: GDOT and local government.  Exposure in alternative delivery for transportation projects. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (local travel will be required).
