Geoscience Specialist -IV-(Geomodeler) -Interpretation and Evaluation Services

Job Overview

Geoscience Specialist is analyzing and integrating conceptual depositional models, well logs, seismic data, core samples, and production data to construct detailed 3D static models that support the exploration, appraisal, and development of oil and gas reservoirs. This role involves working closely with geologists, geophysicists, Petro physicists, and reservoir engineers to accurately evaluate reservoir characteristics. Additionally, the Geomodeler develops fracture models in complex geological settings and optimizes new well locations to produce economically feasible hydrocarbon strategies and ensure effective field development planning.

Responsibilities

Qualifications 

BSc. In Earth Sciences with Major Geology or Geophysics an accredited university 10+ years of relevant experience in development geology/geophysics and geomodelling domains  Previous experience in the Reservoir Petrophysics /      Reservoir Geology domains Post-graduate studies related to Geoscience domains 

Skills 

Ability to analyze a wide variety of subsurface evaluation scenarios to determine workflows and technologies of relevance to solve client’s challenges (internal or external).  Detailed knowledge of the customer’s main objectives in subsurface characterization and their relevance to WFRD business.  Knowledge of the characteristics and behaviors of both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs. Ability to analyze and interpret complex geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data. Understanding of petrophysical properties and how they affect reservoir performance. Knowledge of statistical methods for spatial data analysis and uncertainty quantification Proficiency in building and calibrating geological models  Excellent written and verbal communication.

 

PREFERRED

Knowledge of depositional environments and sedimentology  Expert user of Petrel . G&G Experience in training, competency and development of peers and junior employees.
