The **Geospatial Analyst** **I** will be responsible for the creation, maintenance, and validation of metadata for geospatial data products and geospatial library holdings, including GeoPDF products. **Responsibilities** + Other GIS work as required. + Normalize data to be standardized across all records. + Organize data into user-friendly formats and ensure raw data types and data formats are appropriate. + Use MCDA techniques to identify the best quality data to support customer needs, including weighting, accuracy, and clarity. + Troubleshoot data issues to ensure 100% completion and accuracy. + Coordinate with customers and appropriate stakeholders to resolve data issues including data integrity issues. + Provide data visualization map products (e.g., transportation data, environmental conditions). + Manipulate data as required. + Investigate data provenance and metadata to confirm data sources and accuracy. + Coordinate with data owners to resolve data interoperability issues. + Enter data into Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases using techniques including geometry scanning and georeferencing of images, automatic conversion to vectors, and conversion of other sources of digital data creation and visualization of data layers and map products using ArcGIS software products. + Extract data from varying data formats including .csv, file geodatabase, HDF, geoJSON, geoPackage, vector, and raster. + Maintain and/or improve upon the capability to derive new data sources from existing data sources using geospatial processing. (e.g., reclassification) + Provide technical input on planning, project development, report writing, project management, and related communications activities. + Ensure that ingested data sources maintain associated metadata, including but not limited to data provenance. + Maintain and/or improve technology asset data ingest capability. + Investigate and make recommendations for the use of temporal data as the unit of analysis, including but not limited to timestamps and Unix time. + Utilize GIS and related software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information. + Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated deliverables. + Develop, edit, and troubleshoot large geodatabases used by mapping tools. + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2+ years of experience OR + High school diploma or GED equivalent and 4+ years of experience may be used instead of a degree. + Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise software. + Must be CompTIA Sec+ certified within 90 days of hire. + Secret clearance required. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Ability to obtain Secret clearance. + Strong communication skills. + Ability to be an accomplishment-oriented, team player, and an individual contributor. + Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, be proactive, and assume additional responsibility and accountability. + Ability to develop strategies to achieve organizational goals; Continual attention to detail, establishes priorities and meets deadlines. + Ability to format and create training courses and learning materials. + Strong MS Office Suite skills. + Experience with MS teams. + Adapt strategy to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands and rapidly be able to assimilate new information. + Ability to approach others tactfully; React well under pressure; Treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or posture; Accept responsibility for own actions; Follow through on commitments. + ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise skills. + Ability to use the Commercial Joint Mapping Tool Kit. + Knowledge of the following data types or formats: Comma Separated Values (CSV), File Geodatabase, GeoJSON, GeoPackage, Raster, Shapefile, GRIB, netCDF, HDF, American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII), and Parquet. **How you’ll grow** At Chenega MIOS, our professional development plan focuses on helping our team members at every level of their careers to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
