Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a highly driven Project Manager to join our geostructural design services team within our geotechnical discipline. In this role, you will coordinate and grow our geostructural engineering business across the nation. You’ll have the opportunity to build and lead a team of talented engineers while partnering closely with other Managers and Principals. Travel may be required. This position is based in New York State, and candidates are expected to work from one of our offices located in Albany, Newburgh, Valhalla (Westchester), Buffalo, Rochester, Binghamton, or New York, NY. Responsibilities Responsibilities include preparing scopes of work and proposals, serving as the project manager for geostructural design projects led by project engineers, and overseeing the profit and loss (P&L) for assigned projects. The role also involves developing new relationships and strengthening existing connections with clients and key influencers, as well as maintaining accurate project records and files in accordance with firm protocols. Build and lead a team of engineers specializing in geostructural design. Maintain effective relationships with colleagues across all divisions and disciplines. Communicate efficiently and professionally with contractors, clients, and team members. Attend and participate in professional networking events. Develop a path for business growth and service expansion, including cross-selling other disciplines. Prepare proposals for professional services, including scopes of work, procedures, and budgets. Perform and oversee engineering calculations and design drawings related to geostructural design, both independently and as part of ongoing projects. Direct engineering calculation packages, technical specifications, and design drawings for support of excavation, temporary and permanent foundations, retaining structures, GRS systems, dams and levees, embankments, and related elements. Ensure contractual commitments are met and that work is completed according to client instructions. Monitor fees and budgets, assuming profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities for geotechnical aspects of projects. Control and review all project forecasts, schedules, cost estimates, and reports. Maintain quality control across the entire project and manage all project files. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 8–10+ years of related experience. Master’s degree with a Geotechnical or Structural specialty preferred. PE certification in NY or other states, or ability to obtain within 3 months. Proven ability to identify, develop, and mentor talent. Experience effectively managing projects from concept through completion. Strong leadership and decision-making skills. High attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, report-writing, and project management skills. Proficiency with computers and geotechnical design software. Valid driver’s license in good standing is required. Reliable means of transportation to and from project sites and a clean driving record. Ability to read, write, and understand English for the purpose of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions.
