Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

Job Description

A small geotechnical engineering firm is seeking to add an Engineer in Training (EIT) to join the team as a Geotechnical Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for testing and gathering data in the field, and writing reports on their findings. This role offers a great opportunity for individuals looking to eventually take on project management responsibilities. Prior experience with test pits and test boring is essential.

Responsibilities

Conduct field testing and data gathering for geotechnical purposes.Write detailed reports on findings from field tests.Collaborate with team members to manage projects from start to finish.Engage in geotechnical analysis to support engineering projects.

Essential Skills

Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.Licensed Engineer in Training (EIT) with the goal of obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license.1+ year of experience with test pits and test boring.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Experience in geotechnical analysis and engineering management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

2-4 years of geotechnical analysis and engineering experience.Experience in wall design is preferred but not required.Ability to provide redacted examples of previously written reports.Knowledge in material testing, inspection, and concrete testing.

Work Environment

The role involves working on construction sites and then writing reports in the office. The position is full-time, requiring presence in the office or on-site five days a week to maximize training opportunities. There is potential for some remote flexibility in the future. This is a family-owned company where teamwork and wearing multiple hats are encouraged, offering exposure and training in managing projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $47.00/hr.
