Role description:

We are now recruiting talented individuals to fill our current vacancy for Geo-Technical Engineer to work on our projects in Bangalore/Noida/Hyderabad/Mumbai

Role accountabilities:

Arcadis works with multidisciplinary teams on hydraulic, infrastructural, and utility projects all over the world. In all these projects, the beautiful field of geotechnical engineering is the literal and figurative foundation of all these projects. That's why we are looking for an experienced geotechnical engineer.

Working at Arcadis means being involved in diverse and complex geotechnical issues. The focus is on structural geotechnics such as retaining walls, foundations, quay walls, mooring piles, and reinforced soils. From designing a dike reinforcement to deep excavations and quay walls. Your tasks include independently defining, supervising, and interpreting soil investigations, as well as establishing principles based on standards and guidelines. You will perform design calculations and prepare your design reports using common geotechnical software. Additionally, you will guide junior staff in carrying out their tasks. In your designs, you pay explicit attention to economic optimization, feasibility, environmental impact, and Safety by Design. You utilize your digital skills to further standardize and automate the work and design processes.

As a geotechnical designer, you are part of the Water Engineering and Maritime Infrastructure advisory group, and thus part of a vast network within Arcadis. We are an enthusiastic team of young and energetic colleagues who collaborate with highly experienced senior advisors. We have an open and cooperative work culture and constantly help each other to grow. You will collaborate with designers and engineers in both wet and dry infrastructure, and be part of Arcadis' extensive international network of geotechnical experts. It's an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise - both within and outside projects - and contribute to innovation and automation of designs. You will have ample opportunity to delve into substantive work and tackle developments that align with your personal interests.

Geotechnical engineering plays a crucial role in various project phases, from advising during the planning phase for clients, collaborating with contractors in tender consortia, to analyzing monitoring data during implementation. This spans across a wide range of public and private clients.

We are involved in all phases where projects can be, from feasibility to execution design. We do this on both the client side as well the contractor side. This makes our work diverse and challenging. Some notable projects that your future team – the Water Engineering & Maritime Infrastructure advisory group – has worked on are:

- Renovation of the Afsluitdijk, the longest levee of the Netherlands
- Storm Surge Barrier Nieuwpoort in Belgium
- Bridges and quay walls in the historic center of Amsterdam
- Many quay walls and jetties in the ports of Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and beyond

Qualifications & Experience:

As an experienced engineer, you have an entrepreneurial and professional attitude. You feel at home in a results-oriented environment, where your innovative solutions and advice can shine. You are a true team player, but you can also work excellently independently. Furthermore, you have:

A completed academic degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a specialization in geotechnical engineering. Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience as a geotechnical designer or specialist. Strong focus on structural geotechnics (foundations and retaining walls). Experience with geotechnical software such as Plaxis 2D / 3D is a plus. Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing.

If you have experience with hydraulic engineering structures (quay walls, mooring piles, locks, etc.) and/or an affinity for programming (Python, Mathcad, VB), we definitely consider that a plus.
