Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking a **Geotechnical Engineer** to serve as a technical advisor on transportation projects for our New York Metro Transportation group including NYC, Bloomfield, NJ and Piscataway, NJ office locations. This role is available immediately. **The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:** + Prepare technical reports, specifications and construction documents. + Evaluate ground conditions and understand their impacts on design and construction. + Provide guidance to entry level Engineers. + Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. + Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works. + Prepare subsurface exploration programs, laboratory assignments and preparing geotechnical reports + Perform geotechnical investigations and construction inspections. + Lead/manage geotechnical engineering investigations. + Perform pile analysis, slope stability, settlement analysis, ground improvements and seepage analysis. + Utilize computer software programs, such as: APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SEEPW, SLOPEW and GRLWEAP. + Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction documents. + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural engineers, architects, and environmental specialists. + Develop and implement quality control procedures for geotechnical projects. + Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements and findings. + Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in geotechnical engineering. + Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to team members. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or related + 4 years of related experience and/or education or demonstrated equivalent. + Valid Driver's License **Preferred Qualifications** + NY and NJ PE highly preferred or ability to obtain within a year + Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering + 5 years of related work experience preferable + Experience with NYSDOT, and NJDOT + Ability to lead/manage geotechnical engineering investigations + Ability to perform construction inspection on foundation elements + Experience with pile Analysis , Slope Stability and seepage analysis + Experience with computer software programs such as APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SEEPW, SLOPEW and GRLWEAP.prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction documents + Ability to prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction **Additional Information** + Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. + Relocation is not available for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
