We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our established team. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Perform geotechnical field explorations, including test borings, rock coring, test pits, cone penetration testing, hand augers, and other methods. * Perform construction monitoring of earth retaining structures, deep foundations (drilled shafts, piles), and shallow foundations. * Prepare boring logs and subsurface profiles. * Design of shallow and deep foundations and earth-retaining structures. * Perform liquefaction and consolidation settlement analyses. * Perform geotechnical analyses with computer programs such as: SETTLE3D, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, GRLWEAP, DeepEx, SLIDE or SLOPE/W, MATHCAD, FB-Multipier * Perform Finite Element modeling using PLAXIS and or FLAC. * Develop geotechnical reports. * Design Ground Improvement including deep soil mixing, rigid inclusions, chemical. * Develop Contract documents including drawings and specifications. * Work in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams from across North America. * Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable, and meet all assigned project deadlines. * Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines. While this position may operate anywhere in the US, it is preferred if the candidate is located within our West Central geographic area including: Houston, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix or Las Vegas. * Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited school * 1-5 years of experience on geotechnical projects in the US * Willingness and flexibility to travel nationally for work * Good verbal and written communication skills * Computer skills including CADD, and Microsoft Office * A valid US driver’s license and reliable vehicle Ideally, You’ll Also Have: * Master of Science degree with emphasis on Geotechnical Engineering * Design experience with transportation and water infrastructures Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
