Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Geotechnical Project Engineer to support onshore geotechnical and geophysical investigation projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in the review, interpretation, and validation of laboratory and in-situ test data, contributing to the development of robust ground models and geotechnical design solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong academic foundation and hands-on experience in both fieldwork and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, supervise, and audit geotechnical and geophysical investigations for onshore infrastructure and energy projects.
Review and validate laboratory test data for consistency, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications and standards.
Interpret in-situ test results, including CPT, pressuremeter, dilatometer, and geophysical surveys.
Collaborate with geophysicists and geotechnical teams to develop integrated ground models.
Prepare and contribute to Geotechnical Interpretive Reports (GIRs) and Geotechnical Design Reports (GDRs).
Provide technical support during construction, including foundation reuse assessments, slope stability evaluations, and temporary works design.
Ensure quality control and health and safety compliance during site and laboratory activities.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
Required Qualifications
MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or related field (preferred)
BSc in Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering (must)
Relevant certifications
Skills & Expertise
Strong understanding of soil mechanics, laboratory testing protocols, and in-situ testing techniques
Proficient in data validation, test boundary condition definition, and interpretation of complex datasets
Experience with geophysical data integration and ground model development
Familiarity with relevant geotechnical standards
Excellent technical writing, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
