Accountable for the design, implementation and correct execution of inspections and testing methods throughout the different production processes, ensuring the correct quality levels of finished goods and subassemblies are achieved in compliance with internal, external and regulatory requirements. Using data collection and statistical analysis, establish the correct process indicators (KPI’s) and corresponding actions/activities to eliminate process variations and increase yield in coordination with other functional areas (i.e.: Engineering, Production, Maintenance, New Products). Responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality/Documentation Systems that support the implementation of improvement actions and their constant monitoring, minimizing the risk and impacts to our customers due to poor product quality. Champion and lead a Quality Culture transformation with a focus on Continuous Improvement.
Develop methods of inspection, testing, evaluation and data collection to ensure internal and external compliance. Development of quality standards in alignment with internal and external requirements. When there is ambiguity or some deviation from the established criteria is required, lead product disposition decisions in coordination with other functional areas, including new products.Lead Root Cause Analysis, oversee (or own as required) corrective actions ensuring proper implementation and result monitoring, adjusting if problems persist. Responsible for departmental training on updates and changes to product and process requirements. Collaborate with all functional areas on the use of problem-solving tools.Maintain the quality system in accordance with ISO 9001 and applicable regulations. Implement/Formalize the use of process audits and statistical controls to improve process yield and lead corrective actions as needed in collaboration with other functional areas. Create, implement and foster a Quality and Continuous Improvement Culture at all levels of the organization.Define adequate Quality Metrics (KPI’s) inclusive of Cost of Poor Quality, Customer Satisfaction, On Time Delivery and New Product Launches. Establish action plans that support goal achievement and Quality Department ownership and participation. Responsible for resource management, employee evaluations/promotions, staff training and continuous communication. Responsible for department budget and expense control in accordance with company policies. Promote the professional development of the Quality team, employee engagement and inclusion.EDUCATION
BS or MS Industrial Engineering, Mechanics, Electronics, Mechatronics, Chemistry or related career.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum five years of experience as a Quality Manager
Experience in quality systems, standards such as ISO 9001, TS16949 equivalent is highly desired
Promotes the professional development of the Quality team and foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement. Provide ongoing training and development for both internal teams and suppliers to improve quality assurance processes, enhance technical knowledge and stay current with evolving industry trends
COMPUTATIONAL KNOWLEDGE
MS Office proficient
Power BI highly desired
Minitab or equivalent statistics package is highly desired
SAP, Oracle, Navision or equivalent is desired
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of internal audits
Use of Problem Solving and Corrective Action tools is a must
New Product and new component/process introduction (APQP/PPAP) desired
Project Management skills desired
Seasoned in several production processes
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferable
Certification as an internal auditor is desired
