Faculty Position: Geriatrics Medicine Clinician Educator
The Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology, and Palliative Medicine, Department of Medicine, Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is recruiting an outstanding Geriatrics Clinician Educator to assist an interdisciplinary geriatrics medicine consultation service at the University of Texas Health Science Center in partnership with University Health System. Successful applicants will have key roles in organizing and building this geriatric medicine consultation model. This model will include an interdisciplinary team, multiple teaching opportunities and an on-site mentorship.
In addition to providing excellent care, applicants should have skills and interests in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows and/or participating in clinical and educational research. The Division is fully integrated with UT Health San Antonio (UTHSA) resources, including the Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies, the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (Geriatrics Research Education and Clinical Center-GRECC, Geriatrics and Extended Care Programs), and ACGME Accredited Fellowship Programs in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Applicants must be Board Certified in Internal Medicine or other primary specialty, Geriatrics fellowship trained, and have or be eligible for the Board certification in Geriatric Medicine. Successful applicants will be appointed at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor dependent on experience.
