Nurse Practitioner - Faculty Position
Specialist 

The Department of Family and Community Medicine, Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Geriatrics and Supportive Care division. This position seeks a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who is committed to practicing and teaching patient-centered care. 


Qualifications and Job Duties include:

Board certification as FNP or AGNP required.  Clinical responsibilities are determined by patient need and organizational mission requirements including work in nursing homes, assisted living, home visits, post-acute care, and outpatient clinic duties for geriatrics/palliative care.  Clinical experience and interest in hospice and palliative services is preferred. Actively support and participate in the standardization and optimization of primary care workflow and patient-centered primary care and innovative team-based care to facilitate care in the hospital and in between the hospital, clinic, and other settings; working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Effective communication skills; excellent health assessment skills; good computer skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a collaborative health care team.  Sensitivity to psychosocial issues in health care with an emphasis on ethnic issues. Candidate selected will be appointed as a Specialist on non-tenure track based on experience and career trajectory.
