GFANZ Capital Mobilization Associate - contractor
Bloomberg
The Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) brings together financial institutions and other financial sector participants who have individually decided to support the objectives of mobilizing capital for the net-zero transition and addressing the barriers companies face to scaling decarbonization. Seizing the economic opportunity created by the transition requires an increase in the flow of private finance across all sectors of the global economy, especially in emerging markets and developing economies, where the private sector faces a wide range of barriers to investment.
As a key focus, GFANZ works with local and global partners–including governments, multilateral development banks (MDBs), development finance institutions (DFIs), multilateral fora (COP and the G20/G7)--to unlock transition finance in emerging markets and developing economies. Our work is led by financial institutions and focuses on both global and country-specific initiatives, including supporting country platforms, partnering with MDBs and DFIs to scale tools to mobilize private finance, and supporting the development of solutions to other barriers to investment.
To support this work, we are looking for a highly motivated and effective individual, with 2 - 4 years of relevant experience, who will play a critical role in supporting the Capital Mobilization team to deliver on our strategic, policy, and technical work. This role will work

+ Support engagement with private-sector financial institutions and other key stakeholders including MDBs, DFIs, and governments, including helping ensure that working groups and other engagement forums operate smoothly.
+ Support executive-level briefing of GFANZ leadership and principals, and communicate effectively with the wider secretariat to advance common priorities and draw on wider expertise and resources.
Expectations:
+ 2+ years relevant professional experience, e.g. in corporate/investment banking focused on emerging markets, development finance, climate or economic/financial policy, or management consulting focused on relevant topics.
+ Knowledge and interest in deepening understanding of key topics related to scaling private climate investment in emerging markets and developing economies.
+ Excellent qualitative research skills, writing skills in English, and visual presentation skills.
+ Very strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to support structured progress across a team on complex projects with many moving parts
+ Excellent ability to synthesize complex sets of information and effectively communicate to collaborators and stakeholders.
