To support the demands of our customers as we continue to significantly expand our operations, we need a proven Data Center technology focused leader to be a part of our remote infrastructure management team. We require a strong strategic and technical minded individual with a passion for devising innovative concepts and strategies that will take our Operations to the next level. We are looking for a leader who can collaborate, lead and mentor an organization of skilled Field Technicians.

Key job responsibilities
We are looking for individuals with experience in the following areas:
· People Management.
The candidate will have managed an organization of 10-20 individuals. They should be able to demonstrate how they have continued to improve performance of an existing organization along with displaying skills in creating or growing the organization at scale.
· Incident Management.
The candidate should have a lot of experience dealing with high severity situations, show a clear understanding of the wider blast radius of any issue/outage and potential consequences of differing outcome scenarios. They should also be able to talk with confidence with senior executives about issues at hand paths towards recovery or stabilization.
· Customers.
We obsess about our customers, and a successful candidate should as well. A successful candidate should be able to prove that the AWS customer is the number one priority and that they have proven experience keeping their standards high and delivering solutions to problems that focused on the customer.
· Process Improvement.
No perfect process exists, as such a successful candidate should think critically about all aspects of their business. They should be able to talk to us about finding issues in processes, remediation steps and how this affected the overall business. Often this may requires the use of industry methodologies such as (but not limited to): Kaizen/Value Stream Mapping/LEAN/Six Sigma/Theory of Constraints.

A day in the life
As an Global Field Operations Command Center (GFOCC) Tech Manager in A100 ROW Servicos De Dados BRA - B71, you will get to manage the GFO infrastructure remotely. We encounter interesting, challenging & complex problems every day, being a technical manager means that you can innovate to solve these issues and help drive Operations Excellence in all areas of your role.
Your day job will include (but not limited to):
• Managing and developing an organization of skilled managers and technicians, providing both tactical and strategic expertise and ensuring the highest levels of performance
• Constantly striving for improvement on all our processes and procedures (We believe there is nothing we cannot improve)
• Assisting & managing relationships with external vendors & contractors
• Liaising with internal teams & management groups
• Ensuring adherence by audits that we exceed local Health & Safety standards in our GFO Infrastructure facilities
• Never ceasing to drive performance through metric creation, improvement and adherence of all aspects of our operations and utilizing those metrics to drive positive improvements
• Collaborate with senior leadership, regional peers and stakeholders on strategically planning future growth for the coming 1 to 2 years
• Develop, mentor and train the leadership of the future, to ensure success at scale
• Challenge and improve on accepted documentation and practices to not only meet but exceed industry best practices
• Ability to manage a geographic region, remote from your direct manager
• Own and refine the service methodologies such as incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.
Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience managing large scale services, and at least 2 years building strong, successful technical teams
• High degree of organization and detail-orientation
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Prior ownership of the operation of a mission-critical team and/or product
• Ability to consistently deliver results despite competing priorities and distractions
• Experience in managing Data Center IT Infrastructure remotely is a big plus
Preferred Qualifications
• Expertise in one or more continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN or Six Sigma
• Vendor management of colocation Data Center services providers to meet or exceed contracted performance SLA’s
• Safety, security, and availability incident response
• Technical writing experience
• Prior project management experience
