GHG reporting analyst

About the position:

The ENGINE GHG reporting analyst provides technical support for greenhouse gas emissions accounting, reporting, and verification, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. It involves collaborating with various internal stakeholders to maintain accurate emissions data, conducting quality reviews, and supporting the development and implementation of greenhouse gas reduction strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support on GHG emissions accounting and reporting, and verification

Track air and GHG-related data requirements and regulatory developments, assessing proposed regulations for business impact, determining applicability of regulatory requirements, developing/executing implementation plans for new/modified requirements, and communicating requirements to key stakeholders

Provide GHG emissions calculations to support emissions inventory and permitting (new projects and modifications) efforts

Collaborate with health, environment and safety specialists, operations/maintenance personnel, engineering, and other key stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and verification of GHG emissions

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders

Support OPG HSE annual, third-party assurance of Chevron’s corporate GHG and carbon intensity data

Keep track of and develop familiarity with emerging industry best practices, and potential new global reporting standards/rules

Deliver training on Chevron’s GHG Accounting Protocol (including quarterly reporting requirements) and digital tools used for GHG/air reporting to business units

Lead quality reviews of business unit-level quarterly GHG data submissions and standard operating procedures, and support development of BU-level GHG forecasts

Support further improvements in enterprise GHG emissions data integrity, timely reporting and data transparency

Support maintenance and improvements to digital tools needed for GHG accounting/reporting

Support marginal abatement cost (MAC) analyses covering Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions for Chevron’s operations

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, reporting, or auditing in the oil and gas industry, including upstream or downstream facilities

Expertise in GHG accounting, reporting or assurance

Knowledge of industry best practices, global standards, and emerging regulations

Experience in identification and execution of GHG reduction opportunities

Experience in compliance, and stakeholder engagement

Leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and program/project management skills

Minimal to no travel required
