Clerical/Registration duties may be accomplished as directed. Responsibilities Follow established procedures for GI interventions (e.g., preference cards, supply accuracy, and obtaining necessary items). Adhere to aseptic techniques (e.g., proper scrubbing, gowning, and gloving). Clean, disinfect, and maintain all endoscopes and equipment. Demonstrate expertise in the role of GI tech, anticipating the needs of GI physicians and understanding instrument usage. Keep records of equipment damage, repairs, and returns. Assemble and break down endoscopy sets and instrument set-ups. Operate autoclaves and scope washers, performing daily A-Test/Biological tests. Ensure proper care, handling, and documentation of instruments and flash cycles. Maintain accountability for department supplies, instruments, and equipment. Maintain specimen logbooks and arrange for proper specimen transfer to the lab. Assist RNs with patient care planning, patient positioning, and addressing special needs. Maintain a sterile field, perform gross cleaning of instruments, and manage contamination sources during GI procedures. Assist in updating preference cards in coordination with the Nurse Manager. Ensure efficient turnaround time between procedures, assist with room cleanup, and prioritize case setup for maximum efficiency. Qualifications Must possess one (1) year experience in hospital setting. Prefer minimum of 1 year current operating room experience. Ability to communicate in English required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Competencies Skills Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members Able To Withstand Crisis Situations Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records Credentials BLS – Basic Life Saving Certification Education High school graduate or equivalent Salaries starting at USD $21.60/Hr.
