Position Summary
The Gift Shop Clerk assists with maintaining a clean and tidy shop, greets all customers and offers assistance. The Clerk processes sales transactions, including telephone orders, including appropriate documentation. The clerk resolves customer concerns as they occur and informs Coordinator or Manager when the concern cannot be resolved. The clerk maintains responsibility for their cash register, including signing in and out, maintaining correct balance, and loss prevention. The Gift Shop Clerk stocks merchandise to ensure an adequate, but not excessive, amount of merchandise.

Operate Cash Register to perform retail transactions Customer Service – Greet all customers, recommend items, knowledge of sales or special promotions Maintain AIDET Resolve customer concerns as they occur Fiscal management – maintain correct balance in cash register, count change back to customer, be alert for fraudulent transactions and/or theft Ensures customer areas or clean and attractive – counters are neat and wiped down, glass is dusted, sweep as needed Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers. Must be able to respond calmly and efficiently in crisis situations Must have good interpersonal skills.
