ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled GIS Analyst with expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and a deep understanding of new community development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will combine advanced technical GIS capabilities with CAD proficiency to support the delineation and identification of new communities across the USA. This position requires an individual who can analyze spatial data, design layouts, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to contribute to the successful planning and development visualizing new communities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

GIS Data Analysis: 

Collect, process, analyze, and manage geospatial data for various projects, including land use planning and urban development. 

Utilize GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS) to analyze spatial data, generate maps, and produce high-quality visualization. 

Perform spatial analysis to identify locations for new communities, trends, and relationships relevant to community planning and development. 

CAD Integration: 

Work with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) to produce and implement design plans, ensuring integration with GIS data. 

Support the conversion of CAD drawings into GIS-compatible formats to ensure seamless data integration. 

Project Support & Collaboration: 

Participate in project teams to ensure GIS and CAD-related deliverables meet technical specifications and deadlines. 

Provide technical guidance and support to team members on GIS and CAD-related tasks. 

Present and explain GIS analysis, maps, and CAD designs to stakeholders, clients, and regulatory authorities. 

Quality Control & Documentation: 

Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency in GIS databases. 

Maintain detailed documentation of GIS methodologies, processes, and workflows. 

Conduct quality control and quality assurance checks to ensure data integrity across both GIS and CAD platforms. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college, in Geography, Urban Planning, GIS, or a related field. 

Proven experience (typically 2-4 years) in GIS analysis, with expertise in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D). 

Solid understanding of land development processes and new community planning.  

Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, etc.), as well as CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D). 

Strong ability to translate technical GIS and CAD data into actionable insights for community development. 

Familiarity with data conversion techniques between CAD and GIS platforms. 

Knowledge of zoning, land use, and environmental regulations related to new community development. 

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

Experience with 3D modeling software and geospatial analysis tools. 

Familiarity with scripting and automation tools for GIS (e.g., Python, ModelBuilder). 

Certification in GIS (e.g., GISP) or CAD-related credentials (e.g., AutoCAD Certified Professional).
