Job Description SummaryLead and manage a “site selection” centre of excellence for GE Vernova Financial Services using state of the art Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based integrated software (Enverus or equivalent) and meso-scale based wind data models to provide valuable inputs vis-à-vis wind resource, development constraints and power evacuation nodes capacity to identify optimal locations for renewable power projects.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide support and guidance on spatial data management in the context of infrastructure project development cycle (Wind, Battery, Solar)Support design and management of multiple geodatabases, including carrying out geoprocessing/analysis tasks. Maintain list of prohibitive and non-prohibitive constraints databases based on GIS data and Site selection criteria.Maintain/enhance GEV site selection algorithm leveraging GIS software to deliver technical analysis, land information and project return. Develop and maintain a feedback loop to enhance the accuracy and suitability of the site selection tool.Automate processes for uploading and processing GIS information, including land/wind/grid data in the context of site selection and early-stage development. Ability to access and process large volumes of data from ground mounted measuring stations and operating projects using software would be viewed favorably.Design and develop tools to automate GIS output within project development processes (post site selection) and analyze key constraints.Prepare Competitive analysis based on GIS data, established relevant set of statistics to support project development strategies.Develop and implement GIS Standards, reporting and best practices. Optimize tools and processes for wind resource analysis.Actively interact with multidisciplinary teams, design and deliver internal training to improve GIS capability within GEV team.Maintain interaction with software developer to include latest updates, improve reporting, streamline access to data.Manage internal LIDAR/SODAR assets in storage or deployed in the field, including supplier management. Post-processing of recorded climatic data as required to complete energy assessments.Validation of computer simulated data sources vs real on-site measurements to inform error and uncertainty.Aligning GE Vernova’s existing field data, tools, and capabilities to deliver an industry leading understanding of wind resource.Must possess excellent verbal and written English language communication skillsBasic Educational Qualification: A Science Degree, preferably with a specialization in geo-sciences and GIS software.Additional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: No
