Overview TRC is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated GIS Specialist to provide technical support for clients and fellow TRC staff. The GIS Specialist must have a minimum of 5 years of experience applying GIS technology to answer questions and solve problems. The GIS Specialist must have excellent communication and organizational skills to work as a member of a larger GIS team to complete project tasks. The GIS Specialist collaborates with project managers, clients, and directs the work of other GIS staff to ensure that quality and timely GIS support is provided on all projects. The GIS Specialist must keep abreast with current GIS technology will be responsible for discovering and implementing new technology with assistance from other members of the TRC GIS team. Required GIS Competencies Application of GIS/Problem Solving: Able to translate client needs to solutions using GIS technology. Able to identify the best tool for the job based on experience and knowledge of what is possible. Advanced GIS Analysis/Model Building/Visual Simulations: Able to utilize GIS applications to perform advanced spatial analysis or data conversion or manipulation. i.e. raster/surface manipulation, mosaic, modify and repurpose imagery for other software. Able to use applications and scripts to create automated geoprocessing workflows. Able to perform visual simulations, renderings, and visual impact analysis using industry standard applications. Geodatabase Development & Design / Data Models: Able to utilize GIS applications to build a GIS, i.e. data mining, geodatabase design, data conversion, etc. Able to define data requirements needed to support business processes within the scope of corresponding information systems in organizations. Web Applications/Services: Able to create map services and interactive web applications. Desired GIS Competencies Programming and SQL Languages: Able to use multiple programming languages to create useful applications or tools for interacting with data within a GIS. Able to apply SQL programming language to communicate with and manipulate databases. Qualifications Required Experience and Education · Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science, or other related discipline. · A minimum of 5 years GIS or related work experience. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
