This position will be part of the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office (MnGeo), which coordinates geographic information systems within the state, creating connections between state agencies and other stakeholders from public and private organizations. Join our team as a GIS Specialist/Developer, where you will play a pivotal role in developing and administering enterprise-level Geographic Information System (GIS) databases, applications, web services, and systems that support MnGeo and its customers. In this position, you will: + Maintain a functional library of enterprise GIS processes, services, and databases. + Administer and support enterprise GIS software, including ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online. + Provide mid-level problem-solving support to supervisors, architects, and developers working with enterprise systems. + Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for GIS server administration, maintenance, and procedures. Experience must include: + Knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, networking technologies, and systems security procedures, including installation and troubleshooting techniques. + Experience with relational database management and design, with experience in systems such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server. + Experience in web services and application development, deployment, and administration, including web application server administration. + Skill in programming and scripting in one or more languages for tasks such as automation, QA/QC, replication, backup, and recovery. + Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties. + Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
