JOB SUMMARY\n

This position provides on-the-job training and work experience for the Intern and collects high accuracy locational information for Greenville Water's geographic information system. In addition, the GIS Intern will learn about career opportunities within Greenville Water's Engineering Department. \n

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\n\nPlans and routes daily GPS activities, based on dataset provided by Supervisor. \nLocates water meters using descriptions from field-based application and locator tools. May require digging. \nUses Trimble survey-grade GPS equipment and ArcGIS Collector application to collect high accuracy locational information and update attributes.\nUsing GPS equipment, GPS meter and enter general information about meter.\nDownload GPS data at the end of each workday.\nProcess GPS data using Trimble software.\nMeet with engineering team members to discuss activities and potential issues.\n\n

Qualifications\n

Current college course work and experience using GPS or other surveying equipment, preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid SC driver's license with a good driving record. \n
