OVERVIEW: The Maine Office of GIS team is looking to hire a motivated Information Technology professional who can lead technical teams, work with our Maine business clients to design, maintain, and support ESRI applications and represent ourC.A.R.E.values in all that they do. The Maine Office of GIS has an opportunity for a motivated GIS professional to serve as the lead system administrator for the State’s ESRI-based geographic information system. The ideal candidate has extensive experience configuring and deploying GIS solutions at an enterprise level that include remote desktop deployments, mobile GIS applications, enterprise and ArcGIS Online portal collaborations, and custom role based user management. You will work with a dedicated team of GIS professionals and key GIS stakeholders across state government as you enable their missions serving the people of Maine. This position is a hybrid remote/onsite position. The onsite location is in Augusta, Maine. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Your primary responsibility will be administering the State’s Enterprise ArcGIS software infrastructure. You will also work with GIS application users and developers to deploy and enable the catalog of GIS applications licensed within our Enterprise License Agreement. + Sample tasks you will undertake include: + Administer the enterprise GIS and the MEGIS geodatabases for Microsoft SQL Server + Manage scripts, models, and tools to support agency users of the GIS environment. + Help design the architecture to accommodate new/emerging GIS technologies to meet + State’s needs. + Install, configure, tune, monitor and maintain the State’s geodatabase and enterprise GIS + software. + Support the deployment of geographic information components, data services and applications within the State’s secure IT infrastructure to meet industry and department standards defined in the MaineIT governance policies. Employees in this classification are competent to work at the highest technical level under limited supervision. WHAT WE EXPECT? The ideal candidate possesses demonstrable experience with the following: + Ability to work in a team environment · Must be comfortable working directly with the end-user GIS community to capture, refine, and verify business requirements, as well as translate those requirements into technical tasks. + Deploy ArcGIS Enterprise in a Windows Server/ Azure Cloud Environment to maintain a highly reliable service level + Administration of ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online in a multiuser environment + Experience maintaining ArcGIS Pro and other GIS system applications + MS SQL Server / Oracle RDBMS database administration + ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE administration, such as multi-user versioned editing and archiving + Geoprocessing tools and scripting. + Experience with ArcGIS Online capabilities and support of web application development + Extensive familiarity with geospatial data types + Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to trouble shoot issues and extend our application frameworks. + Possess strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to write clearly and effectively to communicate complex technical solutions. + Experience in diagnosing and correcting system malfunctions. + Ability to design, conduct, and evaluate system testing + Demonstrated experience working with technical and non-technical staff + Strong initiative and ability to perform with little supervision + Strong organizational skills + Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines + Must be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with limited supervision. + Desire and commitment to a high level of support to the customer, establishing and maintaining a positive relationship. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + A minimum of 6 years of a combination of related post-secondary education, technical certifications, or technology related work experience. Related training, internship experience etc. may be credited as related experience on a month-per-month basis. The selected candidate will be required to pass the required background checks(fingerprinting may be required) as a condition of employment.
