Responsibilities Byers Engineering, a MasTec company, is seeking a full-time GIS Technician. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge. In addition, you will: Create, collect, analyze and validate enterprise asset data and associated landbase data within an enterprise geographic information system (GIS) and other asset information storage databases. Provide GIS data analysis, data mining, technical support and database maintenance to meet internal and external customers’ requirements. Qualifications Required Skills: Intermediate proficiency with variety of GIS concepts, practices, and procedures ArcGIS 10.2 including ArcMap and ArcCatalog – intermediate proficiency. ArcGIS Model Builder - intermediate MS Access - basic proficiency MS Excel - intermediate proficiency MS Word - intermediate proficiency MS PowerPoint - intermediate proficiency SQL Knowledge – intermediate proficiency Relational database management systems - intermediate proficiency VBScript – basic proficiency Excellent ability to apply math skills to drafting problems such as scaling. Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills Desired Skills: Experience working with GIS in utility industry (natural gas, electric, oil) FME – intermediate proficiency Python/ArcPy – intermediate proficiency APDM/PODS –intermediate proficiency Linear Referencing/Routing concepts - intermediate proficiency ArcGIS Workflow Manager – intermediate proficiency ArcGIS Data Reviewer – intermediate proficiency ArcGIS Online – intermediate proficiency Miner & Miner ArcFM – intermediate proficiency Location: 3 days a week in office; 2 days from home Hard work pays off.
