GIVEMESPORT - Community Manager

This position will operate on a remote, freelance basis. Applicants must be based in the UK to be considered.


GIVEMESPORT.COM is seeking a Community Manager to join the team and help us build a strong, active and engaged community of sports enthusiasts across our website and social media channels.

In this role, you will be the voice of our brand and will be responsible for developing and maintaining genuine relationships with our sports community – which currently includes more than 26 million passionate fans and followers. 


Expectations:Actively engage with the community across our website by responding to comments in articles and creating new threads for users to interact with, as well as our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc.). Respond to comments in a timely and personable manner. The tone of voice: friendly, witty, knowledgeable.Engage with other Facebook Groups and Pages as GIVEMESPORT.Moderate our platforms by ensuring all interactions within the community are respectful and inclusive. Don’t let spam filter through!Help develop and implement strategies to grow the community and increase audience engagement. Utilize data and analytics to track community trends, engagement rates, and other key metrics.Work closely with marketing, editorial, and content teams to ensure community-driven initiatives are aligned with overall company objectives and brand voice.Invite engaged users to follow our Facebook page & minimize the amount of unfollows.Identify opportunities to share user-generated video content on our Facebook page by contacting the original creator and asking for permission.
What we’re looking for:Proven experience as a Community Manager, Social Media Manager, or similar role in the sports, entertainment, or digital publishing industry.Deep passion for sports, particularly football, and understanding of the fan cultureStrong understanding of social media platforms, digital trends, and how to create engaging content that resonates with fans.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a personable and friendly tone.Creative, self-starter, and able to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with fan-driven platforms like Discord, Reddit, or fan-based social groups is a plus.Must be located in the UK.
