Global Applications, Snacks, Bakery & Confectionary Intern (Summer 2025)

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious student to join our R&D team for summer 2025! As the Global Applications, Snacks, Bakery & Confectionary Intern, you will support progression of a well-defined research project connecting consumer insights and/or un-met customer needs to developing ingredient technology for snacks and bakery products. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with customer innovation, marketing, and manufacturing teams to deliver results. This work will also give you the opportunity to use different analytical tools to quantify raw material properties and correlate them with end-product characteristics.

Your role will be:

Operating laboratory equipment safely and with little direct supervision to support project needsMaintaining a clean, safe work environment; following guidelines for good housekeeping and safetyConducting searches on prior art (literature, patents), and current technology including competitive activity on related projects, and summarizing the outcomes in appropriate reportPresenting project status, updates, and outcomes to team and key partners Working well with others in laboratory; effectively communicating with colleagues, project teams, including cross-functional team members, and key partnersPerforming laboratory experiments, conduct data analysis and interpret results to make recommendations to project team and support the projectCoordinating, summarizing and reporting data generated from these experimentsRecording data in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and other archiving databases as appropriate; effectively communicating results to project teams and partnersPresenting research findings to management with recommendations for future New Product Development or Applied Research projects at completion of internship period

Your profile needs these qualifications:

Progress towards a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biochemistry or related field with laboratory research experienceAbility to work safely in a laboratory environmentExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written technical communication skills, e.g. making presentations and writing technical data/reportsWorking knowledge of basic computer software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day

Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
