Dove Deodorants, the top female deodorant brand globally, is a €1.4 billion business with an 8% CAGR over the past decade, pioneering care in deodorants.
We are looking for a dynamic Assistant Brand Manager to support our Personal Care business in Europe, our second-largest region, representing a significant €800 million business. This region is crucial to our success, and we have ambitious growth plans to expand our market share and penetration while future fitting the brand.
Job Purpose & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will support x-category Disruptive innovations for Dove PC in Europe in a very pivotal moment for the brand. We will bring discontinuity to our approach to fulfil the potential of the brand in the region; transforming the brand and making it truly DESIRABLE, embedded in CULTURE and with a strong sense of PURPOSE.
Major Accountabilities are:
To support Line Manager in the development of key Personal Care innovation projects that will drive thought leadership and share gain in our key European markets.
Support the development of insight-driven brand strategy and plans to drive long term growth.
Lead the development of brand’s premium projects including market liaison, the 6P development and Investor Board documentation and management.
Effectively lead and collaborate with a diverse cross-functional team (Insights, R&D, Finance, Supply Chain) to ensure the OTIF delivery of projects.
To build, and gain approval of, robust business cases on all innovation projects.
To support in the development of clear and inspiring marketing briefs for external agencies to create campaigns. Lead the development of social content for campaigns (low-fi content factory)
To support the brand team with any ad hoc projects.
Close collaborations with clusters and local teams for the key lead markets.
All About You
Candidates will need a keen understanding of the consumer across Europe and its market dynamics, as well as an intuition and passion for crafting and innovation. They will need leadership skills that allow them to create an environment of collaboration and partnership. In addition, they will require the following skills, competencies & qualities:
At least 3 years marketing experience in Global and/or Regional or Local roles.
Consumer love – the ability to immerse themselves in the lives of our consumers and shoppers, understanding their pain points, needs, and desires, what delights them to craft the most relevant innovations and comms.
Ideally marketing experience, preferably focusing on innovation and/or activation.
A passionate crafter, that doesn’t compromise in the delivery of superior, delightful mixes even in high pressure circumstances; able to mobilize teams to deliver to this vision.
Sense of Aesthetics, eye to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work and not settling for “good enough”.
External focus, aware of what is happening in culture and planet beyond your job spec.
A healthy obsession with pleasing consumers and a fascination for the products we sell – the formulations, science, fragrance, sensorials, look and feel. You understand how our products compare to competitors and are committed to unmissable superiority.
Highly intuitive with strong storytelling ability; you are able to spot issues & opportunities and know how to frame messages in a simple and compelling way.
Strong digital/social & consumer engagement awareness are key to this role as part of crafting the step-change in communication.
Project Management skills. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and agencies to deliver projects OTIF.
Entrepreneurial mindset, challenging the status quo to have stronger impact.
A positive and can-do attitude, rigour, and ability to hold yourself (and others) accountable.
Excellent written and spoken communication and IT skills (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).

Location
In 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars ("100VE"), Lever House in Kingston and Graze in Richmond, the build is due to be complete in early 2025. Most recently, in August 2024, we announced our intention to retain our premises in 100VE until our lease expires in 2027.
We are due to consult with our existing workforce on the new proposal to retain 100VE for the duration of our lease. Therefore, until such a time consultation has concluded as to the retention of our 100VE office, this role will be based in 100 Victoria Embankment until early 2025 and then will move to the Kingston Campus.

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
