Role Overview:

The Global BIM & Design Automation Director plays a pivotal role in shaping and leading Arcadis global digital strategy across the Design & Engineering service portfolio. This includes driving innovation, efficiency, and excellence in BIM, design automation and information management.

The role combines external leadership, representing Arcadis as a thought leader in digitalization at industry conferences and promoting its reputation, with internal leadership, driving the Center of Excellence to standardize tools, practices, and foster knowledge sharing globally.

By aligning digital initiatives with Arcadis global strategy and client needs, this role ensures the seamless delivery of innovative solutions while enhancing client engagement and advancing the company's position as a leader in digital engineering.

Objectives of the Role:

Drive Innovation: Lead the evolution of BIM, design automation, and digital engineering practices to ensure Arcadis remains at the forefront of the industry. Promote Efficiency: Streamline processes, tools, and services to enhance productivity and project outcomes globally. Foster Excellence: Implement best practices and knowledge-sharing systems to ensure high-quality delivery across the organization. Encourage Collaboration: Enable cross-disciplinary teamwork and standardized methods for seamless project execution. Support Strategic Goals: Align global digital initiatives with Arcadis' strategy and client needs to maximize impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Strategy Development

Translate Arcadis global service strategies into actionable digital roadmaps Collaborate with country teams to ensure seamless delivery of digital engineering services Align BIM and design automation initiatives with client-facing value propositions to enhance project outcomes

Leadership and knowledge sharing

Lead the Global BIM and digital engineering. Develop global best practices and foster a culture of knowledge sharing. Oversee the creation and dissemination of knowledge management systems

Technology and Innovation

Promote awareness of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, data analytics) and recommend pilot investments. Drive alignment of BIM tooling and processes across acquired entities. Lead the development of BIM and design automation products, ensuring they align with organizational goals and client needs Oversee professional services hosting and integration services to support seamless adoption of digital solutions Provide support and guidance for strategic project pursuits, enhancing the value propositions offered to clients

Client engagement

Act as a trusted advisor, supporting client pursuits and strategic bids with expertise in BIM and digital solutions. Enhance client engagements through innovative digital solutions and advanced engineering practices. Represent Arcadis in industry conferences and events, promoting the company's thought leadership.

Standardization and Collaboration

Promote standardized methods and multidisciplinary collaboration across teams. Establish frameworks to ensure consistent project delivery and alignment globally. Support the development and implementation of global D&E procedures, work instructions and templates as part of the Arcadis Information Management System.

Professional Services Advisory

Co-lead initiatives for professional software contracts (e.g., Autodesk, Bentley). Provide hosting and integration guidance for digital solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience in leading digital transformation within the design and engineering industry Expertise in BIM, design automation, and information management Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate service strategies into actionable roadmaps Excellent communication and presentation skills with a track record of industry thought leadership Knowledge of professional engineering software applications (e.g., Autodesk, Bentley) and technology-driven solutions Experience driving global initiatives, managing complex processes, and delivering measurable outcomes
