About the job

Within Sanofi, the Procurement function is a powerhouse maximizing savings to fund the company’s future growth. The Chief Procurement Officer is reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, member of the sanofi executive committee. The Procurement organization is divided into five Domains (Manufacturing & Supply, Marketing & Sales, Professional Services, Scientific & Medical and Digital) leveraging Global Procurement Operations and the Procurement Center of Excellence & Transformation.  The yearly spend coverage is around 15B€ with a special focus on Procurement excellence, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability. Closely collaborating with Finance, Business Operations and Business Units, Procurement is instrumental in achieving cost efficiency and savings. Procurement plays a critical role in optimizing Business Operational Impact with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. It forges strategic partnerships with suppliers, prioritizing innovation and data driven solutions.

As Global Buyer Real Estate, leases, and Fit outs you will be responsible under the lead of the Global Lead Buyer for implementing sourcing strategies and operational execution at worldwide level with focus for Americas.

This includes activities such as, but not limited to, partnering with the internal business teams to support their objectives, assist with building project scopes, consolidate all business needs and specification, conduct Global Request for Proposal (RFP), negotiate contracts renewals, rate cards / discount schedules, and manage overall relationships with key suppliers. 

He/she will be the procurement expert with strong knowledge, background, and expertise of Americas region for Real Estate leases, services, Fit-out and project management, and could manage based on portfolio evolution other projects at worldwide level.

Main Sub-categories are:

Real Estate leases: Classical leases, coworking, sub-leasing. Real Estate design and fit outs: Project and cost management, Architects, technical engineers, construction companies, general constructors etc. Real Estate services: Brokerage, Real Estate consultancy, building Due Diligence, Surveyors etc. Office Furniture’s: classical and ancillary office Furniture’s.

The overall spend under his/her supervision is about +150M€ spend/year.

This position part of Professional Services (PS) Domain, Real Estate and Workplaces category will report to the Global Lead Buyer Real Estate.

Responsibilities

Operations Management 

Supports the Global Lead Buyer to ensure the strategy's execution.Implement global Category Management initiative for one of the 4 sub-categories,Leads RFIs/RFPs and contract negotiations,Assess current category related processes and propose alternative ways to engage in a more efficient and optimized way,Build and deliver project and savings pipeline during budget cycle and maintain it throughout the year,Lead RFx processes, negotiations, and support contract development with global, regional, and local suppliers,Design and execute competitive bidding process for global category projects to obtain the best overall value-added solutions from candidate suppliers.Coordination of procurement activities for many and parallel Fit-out projects and strong interactions with Project and Cost Managers, appointed architects, and technical engineers.Reports on status, savings, performance, and risks on the sourcing activities he/she is managing.  Stays informed on current industry trends, new market developments and benchmarking related to his/her category area.  Run SRM program with suppliers of his/her scope. Support pre/post-audit management, Crisis management.  Maintains comprehensive understanding of Procurement Policies/Processes related to Risk/CSR/Compliance and ensures that these are adhered to by relevant team members.  

Stakeholder Management 

Develop robust Business Partnerships with assigned Stakeholders to ensure business needs are properly and timely met.Presents Procurement strategies to key internal customers for review and inputs. Partner closely with, procurement services, Legal, Compliance, Internal Control and Finance teams towards successful completion of complex global scale negotiation and complex projects.

About you

Experience 

5-7+ years' experience in in either a procurement Real Estate category Management or Real Estate advisory / Project and cost management firm or Architecture firm.

Soft Skills/ Technical skills: 

The position requires sourcing professional skills with a strong ability to develop relationships within and across the different lines of business and throughout the Procurement organization, including transversal / project management skills as well as management skills in a multi-cultural environment: Role model in compliance and ethics.Knowledge of best-in-class Procurement techniques and processes.Ability to work in a complex multi-functional matrix organization across functions, countries, and cultures.Confident and capable in interacting with key stakeholders and vendors.Consistency of focus upon delivery of outcomes and results.Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to utilize tools/systems accordingly.Ability to work independently on multiple concurrent priorities/projects.Able to quickly assimilate new information/skills.Readily adapts to new environment, processes, ways of working, etc.  Willingness and ability to challenge the status quo.  Creativity in imagining new processes, innovative ideas, and solutions.  Encourages collaboration within team and across other functions/groups.  Strong planning, problem-solving and responsive decision-making skills  Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.   Actively seeks feedback to identify opportunities for improvement. 

Education  

Master’s degree, Architect, or civil / construction Engineer

Languages 

Fluent in English is a must. Being able to interact in a second European Language like (Spanish, German, or French) could be a real differentiator.
