Global Card Operations - Payments Governance Analyst (Corporate and Investment Banking)

The Payments Governance team is a new team being developed and is responsible for ensuring Third Parties in particular Payment Facilitators, Marketplaces and Staged Digital Wallet Operators are meeting Acquirer, Regulatory, and Card Network requirements. This position will be responsible for collating, reporting and reconciling large data sets. The team will need to be able to demonstrate ability to monitor and analyze performance data both in real time and on a cumulative basis, and make appropriate recommendations to ensure success. 

The team will ensure due diligence requirements around industry trends and card network mandates impacting Merchant Services to proactively address potential Third Party agent impacting issues while mitigating firm wide reputational, financial and regulatory risk.  The team is expected to be a subject matter expert in card network rules and quickly become versed in JP Morgan Chase’s policies in areas including fraud, credit, legal and brand risks, as well as keeping abreast of emerging trends within the industry. The team member is responsible for evaluating data during the monthly and quarterly monitoring reviews, evidence collection, document retention, QA and reporting. 

The team will report through to the Vice President(VP) of Payments Governance to ensure proper oversight and governance for all Third Parties that have sub-merchant relationships for the lifecycle of the engagement. The team member must have exceptional skills in attention to details, communication skills, process and procedural development, auditing skills, evidence tracking, report writing/producing, SharePoint and low-code system development and the ability to manage large data sets with minimal errors and high demand. Additional responsibilities will be assisting with monthly Quality Reviews and exception reporting to validate accuracy of processes and procedures to guarantee audit readiness. 

Payments Governance will collaborate and become the oversight and governance body for the broader initiative within Multi-Party Commerce. It will be equally crucial for the right candidate to develop trusting and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders that will provide SME input and execute across multiple programs and initiatives. Your work will be highly visible to senior leadership and be instrumental to driving our future growth with Third Parties that have sub-merchant relationships.

Job Responsibilities:

Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks within the payments ecosystem. Develop and maintain comprehensive data models and visualizations to support decision-making and reporting. Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), control effectiveness, and adherence to Payments Governance standards. Develop data-driven reports and dashboards for ongoing data monitoring and periodic reviews. Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures. Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity throughout the organization. Adhere to data privacy and security regulations. Analyze processes to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains. Manage customer experience, and drive results Collaborate effectively with SMEs, IT teams, and stakeholders across departments. Contribute to a business climate and culture that encourages integrity, respect, excellence and innovation.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

Experience with data analysis is expected (e.g., Python, Power Query, PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx) Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and time management skills and Strong and effective skills in problem solving, analytical reasoning and balancing multiple tasks. Expertise in the ability to collate, report and reconcile large data sets. A strong interest in, and general understanding of Merchant Services, compliance, quality, operations, legal, & risk and Strong customer/client focus while ensuring a sound control environment. Demonstrated ability to evaluate documentation and Proficient with Powerpoint and developing high quality presentations graphs and analytics. General knowledge of Chase approved workflow management systems such as Navigator, JIRA, Monday.com, Salesforce and Expertise in the ability to collate, report and reconcile large datasets. Analytical thinker with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and influence at the executive level and Ability to identify common areas of risk and compliance vulnerability.  Demonstrated ability to monitor and analyze performance data both in real time and on a cumulative basis, and make appropriate recommendations to ensure success and Possess sound judgment and flexibility in changing courses and solving problems swiftly.

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience analyzing data as a data analyst, business analyst, database management analyst or similar role. Proficient in MS Office; has background in MS Power Platform and SharePoint Development Experience with SQL or other data query languages is a plus. A background in Snowflake, Azure or other data platform is preferred but not required.
