Goal of Position:Ensure Supply Security of all products within the defined CategoryDefine and implement procurement strategies for the defined CategoryLead negotiations with suppliersEnhance ADM’s ability to leverage its global volume through a higher level of product expertise, improved supplier relationships, a more coherent working mode and a high level of market knowledge. Main Tasks / SkillsSubject-matter expert and Key Contact for suppliers and internal customers for all topics concerning related product-group on a global basis.Develop strategies for the category portfolio per supplier, region and globallyImplement short-, medium- and long term global, regional and local category strategies.Lead negotiations with suppliers and execute agreed contractual terms.Set up Reports for Raw Material Price movements, maintain short- to long term price forecasts and communicate them.Support the development of a negotiation strategy that delivers against ADM business objectives and achieves sustainable competitive advantages with suppliers.Build sustainable global and local supplier relationships that generate value to ADM over time in order to support and enhance the supply strategies of ADM and to ensure alignment of supplier objectives and ADM objectives.Implement best practices internally and externallyObserve market and trendsObserve Market price development and evaluate/report impactsCoordinate RFQ and Bid comparisonResponsible for supplier qualification, development, relationship management, evaluationAccompany product- and market related innovationOrganize Innovation Day with suppliersCoordinate material-phase-in and standardisation of materials for global bundling purposes in cooperation with internal interfaces/departments (e.g. CD&D, Regulatory)Assist in budget creationDefine and satisfy internal Service Level AgreementsSkills:Drives innovative business improvements: Develops new insights into solutions that result in improvements in TCO (total cost of ownership). Includes the ability to create selection criteria to qualify suppliers for the bidding process.Advancing the Customers Relationship: Ability to facilitate and accelerate the business relationship based upon an understanding of the customer. Includes the ability to actively listen and engage in conversation with customers to uncover relevant information, resources and solutions.Vendor Relationship: The ability to evaluate and ensure that vendor performance meets or exceeds defined performance standards and adheres to overall company policies and procedures.Contracting: Knowledge of principles involved in contract law to ensure supplier agreements are appropriately conceived and executed, eliminating potential risk of unlawful and anti-competitive activity.
