Global Chapter Lead - Linux

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Chapter Lead of Linux Technology to join our team at Chubb. In this vital role, you will be entrusted with the oversight and management of our Linux infrastructure and operations on a global scale. Your primary aim will be to ensure the efficient and secure management of our Linux services across all regions, providing exceptional customer experiences. Leading a global team of Linux operators and administrators, you will work closely with stakeholders to develop and implement robust Linux strategies that align with our organization's goals.

 

As a senior member of our Infrastructure Operations organization, you will leverage your proven expertise and relentless passion for innovative solutions. Drawing upon your deep technical knowledge and extensive experience in Linux Administration, Automation, Customer Experience, and operational practices, you will inspire and drive secure, large-scale solutions. Additionally, you will foster a learning culture that embraces cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to solve business challenges.

 

Responsibilities:

Linux Management: Develop and execute strategies for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Linux systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a global team of Linux operators and administrators, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster their professional growth and ensure effective execution of their responsibilities. Linux Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy scalable and efficient Linux architectures that meet our current and future needs. Security: Establish and enforce robust security protocols, ensuring IT security and adherence to industry regulations and best practices to safeguard sensitive customer information. Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize Linux performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks, implementing performance tuning strategies, and enhancing system efficiency. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans, minimizing downtime in the event of system failures or disasters. Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with Linux technology vendors, ensuring access to cutting-edge tools, technologies, and support services. Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective collaboration and communication with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and senior management, to understand their database requirements and deliver timely solutions. Industry Trends and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in database technology, identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and drive innovation within our organization. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as data privacy laws and industry standards, and proactively manage database-related risks.

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. At least 10 years of experience in infrastructure and Linux management, preferably within the Insurance or financial services industry. With 5 years of experience in managing Linux administrators and operators. Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux technologies. Proficiency in Linux administration, performance tuning, and data security. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices for IT security. Intermediate expertise in networking concepts. Excellent problem determination skills, with the ability to debug complex system issues and document root causes. Experience with infrastructure, monitoring, and telemetry tools. Ability to set goals and project plans aligned with organizational objectives and OKRs. Strong partnership and influence skills at all levels, with an understanding of product management and customer-centric organizations.
