The Manager, Global Client Group is a strategic leader at Amex GBT, reporting/supporting to the Director of Client Management in leading the client relationships. This person is responsible for handling the execution of our client servicing strategy for a portfolio of account(s). This person is an innovative leader, strategic problem solver with a focus on analytics, operations, program optimization and building positive relationships. Lead and drive the global travel program for the client, with a strategic focus on enhancing the travel experience and booking process for all travelers.
This Global Client Manager will be dedicated to a finance/banking client, based in NYC.
What You'll Do:
Strategically run the day-to-day travel operational services across 34 countries, including commercial airline, hotel, and ground transportation.
Supervise and track all customer service-related issues until final resolution, acting as the escalation point for internal clients.
Develop, monitor, and implement pivotal initiatives and projects to establish, maintain, or improve the quality, efficiency, and satisfaction of service levels.
Evaluate and challenge existing workflows and processes to enhance internal client experience through creative thinking and innovation.
Run the weekly call of travel project actions to drive efficiencies.
Provide an initial assessment and diagnosis of the business travel program.
Benchmark your company’s program against industry peers and identify opportunities for improvement.
Build a strategic business plan to include concrete, actionable recommendations for both short- and long-term program enhancements.
Collaborate with and lead all aspects of business plans of the regional and local account managers.
Assess travel policy, implement systems/procedures to drive compliance, and recommend strategies to enhance global compliance and increase savings.
Use understanding of the global travel policy, program objectives, and supplier strategy to train and oversee local account managers.
Coordinate an efficient and speedy implementation of aspects within business travel program, including gaining buy-in from travelers with orientation materials.
Provide global reporting, analysis, and recommendations for supplier negotiations on a regional or global basis, in collaboration with Consulting teams.
Coordinate all T&E management activities across the globe.
Provide thought leadership, industry trends, and updates to client.
Provide strategic, consultative support based upon an ongoing assessment of your travel data and an informed understanding of your business objectives.
Conduct Quarterly Planning Sessions to determine progress against travel program goals and identify next steps to further reduce costs and maximize your return on investment.
Introduce new and upgraded products and services that will enhance the program and further reduce your total cost of ownership.
Positively influencing the key client decision makers through effective communication and strategic guidance.
Responsible for overall global operation strategy & program initiatives.
Collaborates with client to develop and administer both long-term and short-term operations business and/or project plans and strategic initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
In-depth knowledge of all AMEX GBT travel products and services, TMC background is imperative
Experience with banking/finance company a plus
Validated experience in handling travel operations across multiple countries
Excellent project management skills with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Knowledge of the latest travel technologies and trends.
5+ year’s global account/client management – business travel validated experience
Extensive customer/client facing experience globally
Strong business and financial competence and the proven ability to get results and achieve targets are required
Strong influencing and consultative skills and organizational change ability
Adept at learning new technology
Ability to identify business opportunities and take proactive approach
Demonstrated ability to deliver a data-driven, analytical approach to the client’s travel program in a consultative manner as the subject matter authority
Strong negotiation skills required, including the ability to handle objections and achieve mutually beneficial solutions
Confirmed executive level presentation skills
Considering candidates within a commutable range of the client's lower Manhattan office as there will be some in-office expectations, weekly.

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $70,000 to $140,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for either our Annual Incentive Award plan, which rewards participants based on company and individual performance, or eligible for one of our metric-driven Sales Incentive Plans (certain sales roles only). An eligible employee can only participate in one of these plans during an eligible period. This role is also eligible for awards under the company Equity Incentive Plan, which is designed to align participants' interests with those of shareholders.
