Hydro Power – a major player in the hydroelectricity generation market - is a business division of GE Vernova. Our work includes the designing, manufacturing, and installation of equipment for hydroelectric power plants, as well as servicing and refurbishing existing facilities. Hydro Power’s turbines and generators represent more than 25% of the total installed capacity worldwide, with 4000 employees present in more than 30 countries.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Contract Management Leader who will drive the function for our Hydro Power business, reporting to the Hydro Power General Counsel. 

The Global Contract Management Leader will manage a global team of senior professionals (NAM, LAM, Europe/Asia), leading Contract Managers to identify, analyze, and manage commercial and contractual risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. The role will involve managing customer, partner, and supplier contracts, negotiating terms, mitigating risks, and driving strategic contract initiatives in a global environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong contract management, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Region General Managers and Project Management Leaders, leads a contract management community that is responsible and accountable for the mitigation of contractual and commercial risks across Hydro Power.Reviews Contract Management resource levels and ensures each Region has the proper level of resources for current and future needs.Drives Contract Management as a function / community within Hydro Power business and projects:

- Defines role & responsibilities, put in place the governance, methodologies & tools, set standards

- Leverages and build knowledge of contract management.

- Drives strategic initiatives with the Contract Management community

- Identifies any training / development needs and ensure that these are met

- Supports and guides Regional Contract Management Leaders in developing their resources and competencies

- Deploy metrics and KPIs to drive improved performance

Develops and implements global strategies to mitigate risk and drive opportunities (customer, partner and supplier), ensuring appropriate strategies and action plans are in place and being executed consistently across regions and in alignment with Hydro Power business objectivesActs as a source of expert commercial/contract advice for the Hydro Power Leadership.Proactively leads the Contract Management community in the identification and mitigation of contractual and commercial risks.Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Finance, Engineering, C&C, Sourcing, to align contract strategies with business objectives and project requirements.Establishes and maintains a centralized contract repository, ensuring all contracts are properly stored, organized and accessible

Required Qualifications:

This role requires significant experience in Contract Management.Degree in Engineering, Law, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited university or collegeExperience with managing a global teamProven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, global environmentProficiency in English is required. Additional languages are a plus (French, Spanish, German)
