What You'll Do

Join a dynamic team transforming BCG into a data-driven organization! As part of the Data Team, you'll help build essential data platforms, products, and capabilities that empower our clients and colleagues with high-quality, actionable insights. Our Data Portfolio Team focuses on creating scalable, governed data solutions to drive informed decision-making across the company.

As part of BCG’s Global Data Portfolio, Global Data Stewards play a critical role in shaping and implementing enterprise-wide data strategies. Within your data domain, you'll help democratize data usage across the firm by defining, curating, and integrating fully authenticated, globally governed data products that are accessible on demand to authorized teams.

 

In collaboration with the Global Data Owner, you will lead key data initiatives, drive data quality assessments, define governance frameworks, and enhance business processes to deliver robust enterprise-wide data solutions.

 

As the Supplier Data Steward, you will be responsible for delivering a robust Supplier Data and Analytics strategy, a pivotal enabler for BCG’s Enterprise Procurement & Payables team and Source-to-Pay transformation programs. Your work will ensure an outcome-based, end-to-end approach to supplier data capture, governance, and analytics—ultimately enhancing visibility, compliance, and decision-making.

 

Key contributions include:

 

Developing a global data vision, roadmap, and change management plan to drive improvements in supplier data governance and unlocking intelligent insights.Partnering with cross-functional teams including Enterprise Procurement & Payables, Finance, Data, Enterprise Services, IT, Business Intelligence & Analytics, and Operations.Enhancing business outcomes such as increased spend visibility, improved cash management insights, and strengthened ESG monitoring and compliance.Supporting BCG’s multi-year Source-to-Pay and SAP ERP transformation journey, ensuring supplier data quality, streamlined processes, and seamless data migration.

 

Among your responsibilities, you will:

 

1. Define the Supplier Data Governance Vision & Roadmap

Work with Enterprise Procurement & Payables leaders to understand the end-to-end lifecycle of supplier data.Identify and refine data governance, quality, and analytics opportunities aligned with business objectives.Develop a strategic Supplier Data Roadmap, outlining initiatives, accountabilities, and measurable objectives.Align prioritization, success factors, and business impact with key stakeholders and tech teams.Continuously assess and refine supplier data needs to improve governance and analytics outcomes.

2. Ensure Sustainable Delivery of Customer Value

Translate strategic roadmap initiatives into actionable data governance and data product deliverables.Prioritize critical areas such as Master Data Management (MDM), Data Quality, BI&A, and Governance Process Improvement.Communicate the business value of data governance to senior stakeholders.Define and track KPIs and key metrics to measure supplier data maturity and impact.Develop a structured demand intake process to prioritize evolving business needs.Drive cross-functional collaboration between Procurement, Data, and BI&A teams to ensure efficient execution.

3. Strengthen the Data Governance Community

Act as a leader among Data Stewards, ensuring alignment and consistency across BCG’s data governance strategy.Foster cross-team collaboration among squads working on Supplier-related initiatives.Promote best practices in Data Governance, Data Management, Stakeholder Engagement, and Change Management.

Strategic Thinking & Execution: Ability to articulate a clear data strategy while leading its execution across complex, multi-functional teams.Supplier Data Management: Expertise in harmonizing data definitions and flows across global functions, improving data quality, and optimizing governance.Enterprise Data Governance Implementation: Proven experience in Metadata Management, Master Data Management, Data Lineage, and Data Quality frameworks.Stakeholder Management & Influence: Ability to work across Procurement, Finance, IT, and Data teams to drive enterprise-wide alignment and impact.Data Analytics & Reporting: Experience in developing KPIs, improving data security, and driving governance maturity.Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensuring adherence to data policies, standards, and governance frameworks across the supplier data domain.Effective Communication: Ability to engage executive leadership and communicate the strategic importance of supplier data governance.

What You'll Bring

10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, BI & Analytics, or Procurement Data roles (preferably in a large, complex organization).Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Business, or a related field.Strong understanding of Supplier and Procurement data, with experience in common data governance challenges.Hands-on experience with Data Governance tools (e.g., Data Catalog, Data Quality platforms).Working knowledge of data technologies such as Snowflake, Informatica IDMC, and ERP platforms like SAP S/4HANA and Coupa.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
