Global Destinations Security Manager

Provide liaison, support and services for safeguarding guests, crew, and assets operating/visiting Carnival Corporation Global Ports.  Ensure facilities meet International Ship and Port Facility Security requirements and certifications. Work with stakeholders from the facilities and operating lines, as well as national security agencies in enforcing the implementation of security requirements. Training Security Staff on Special Projects and/or preventive initiatives.

Essential Functions: 

Liaise with Port Facility Security Officers to ensure facilities are provided with quality security services to protect people and property. Ensure facilities meet International Ship and Port Facility Security requirements and certifications. Work with stakeholders from the facilities and operating lines, as well as national security agencies in enforcing the implementation of security requirements. Liaise with Law Enforcement and conduct investigations to assist outside agencies in all matters of mutual concern. Documentation and report process required Travel to all facilities to engage with internal and external stakeholders. Training Security Staff on Special Projects and/or preventive initiatives Liaise with Global Maritime Security on data collection, investigations and implementing mitigating actions or initiatives.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree Law Enforcement Background  Graduate of Certified Law Enforcement Academy Minimum of five years of criminal investigative experience with an organized law enforcement agency.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Highly detail-oriented and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Possess excellent interpersonal and English verbal/written communication skills, and highly proficient in Microsoft Office. Candidate must be able to travel to various ports of call, local and international, on short notice, to include boarding and sailing aboard Carnivals’ ships.  Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities. Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds. May need to stand for long periods of time.

Travel: Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely. 25-50% with non-shipboard travel likely.

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. May be requested to work a different shift. Other job specific working conditions – Travel to various ports of call for Investigative Work / Special Projects.

This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
