The anticipated salary range for this role is between $163,000.00 and $260,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
**Role Description**
The Executive Director, Global DQ Observability Platform & team Manager, is a critical role reporting to the Global Head of Data Governance & Tooling Transformation in SMBC Americas Division. This role is a team manager role who will be responsible for the design, implementation, oversight, and function of Collibra Data Quality engine in SMBC, which will be used Globally for Data Quality Measurement. This role will manage a team to drive the implementation and management of Collibra Data Quality Platform across AD & EMEA at phase 1 and thereafter Roll-out CDQ to Tokyo, Hong Kong, and APAC; Establish CDQ Forum to gather enhancement needs and develop business requirements; Troubleshoot stakeholders issues and collaborate with Technology Team; Communicate guidance on CDQ best practices; Help manage relationships with Collibra; Manage all CDQ upgrades; Coordinate UAT globally; Develop training material & lead training sessions.
This experienced incumbent will work with the Data Quality Managers, Data Stewards, Technology teams, Vendors and Business Stakeholders, Globally, to implement Data Quality Measurement. He/She will play a vitol role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of our organization's data. Examines complex data to optimize the efficiency and quality of the data being collected, resolve data quality issues/problems, and collaborate with database developers to improve systems and database designs.
**Role Objectives**
Up to 3 direct reports. This role reports into the Global Head of Data Governance & Tooling Transformation. This role will be responsible for managing the Collibra Data Quality (CDQ) tool in SMBC Americas Division for the use of Data Quality Measurement and Monitoring. The tool will be used by all SMBC Regions (including Americas Division, EMEA, Tokyo, APAC, and East Asia). This role will manage the overall Data Quality Framework within the Data Governance program. The incumbent will manage all work streams of the Data Quality Engine / Tooling implementation; The work streams in scope are Implementation and configuration of DQ Engine, Testing of Upgrades, Supporting the DQ Rules Migration, the on-going DQ Rules measurement implementation, Integrations and Reporting. The successful candidate will have previously implemented and managed strategic data quality engine platform / data quality rules in a complex financial environment. You will have a passion for data, proven ownership of a robust book of work and foster a data-driven culture within the team and across a wide range of business, technical and operational stakeholders.
**Role Objectives**
+ Lead a team of few FTEs and a matrix community of stakeholders across all regions, branches, Group Companies and Corporate functional team to ensure data health is measured, monitored and DQ exceptions are addressed based on Global policy, standards and framework.
+ Implement and manage the Collibra Data Quality Platform in Americas Division and EMEA regions of SMBC. Roll-out implementation of Collibra Data Quality to Tokyo, Hong Kong, and APAC regions of SMBC.
+ Support the development of project plan and oversee project plan, including milestones, timelines and deliverables. Hold requirement gathering sessions and ensure functional requirements and design are documented to all integration components or any other needs: Collibra DIP, SNOW, PowerBI, TWS Scheduler, etc.
+ Ensure DQ Controls are defined based on guidelines in adherence to DQ framework and captured in to the enterprise Governance platform. Define and implement a process to map CDQ DQ Rules to their DQ Controls and ensure relationships are established in Collibra.
+ Communicate guidance on best practices for the Collibra Data Quality tool. Support the team in developing a Global Operating Model to implement data quality rules through the new engine tactically / strategically.
+ Oversee UAT testing managers supporting DQ rules releases and review results with business stakeholders and EDMEs
+ Lead DQ Exception forums to ensure DQ Exceptions are reviewed and facilitate working groups with EDMES to drive DQ Exceptions analysis & resolution
+ Support CDQ adoption by stakeholders, training them on best practices on Data Observability
+ Establish and chair the Collibra Data Quality Forum to gather enhancement needs and develop business requirements from all stakeholders across all regions.
+ Develop process improvements to enhance overall data quality
**Role Objectives: Expertise**
+ Must have prior experience with data quality measurement and monitoring, including definition of business rules, technical data quality rules, metrics and exceptions management and understanding of Data Governance best practices. Have prior experience with Data Profiling, Data Management, and can recognize trends, statistical anomalies in the data is helpful.
+ Strong relationship management and influencing skills to build enduring and productive alliances across matrix organizations. Strong team player with excellent listening, interpersonal, facilitation, written, oral and communication skills; ability to effectively communicate concepts in both technical and user-friendly language to management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and successfully manage multiple priorities and stakeholders under pressure, leading teams through matrix and direct management
+ Experienced in defining Data Quality controls on 'Data at Rest' and 'Data in Motion' as well technical operational controls.
+ Strong team player with excellent listening, interpersonal, facilitation, written, oral and communication skills; ability to effectively communicate concepts in both technical and user-friendly language to management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood
+ Proven skills in MS Office suite, MS Excel, PowerBI and MS Project, PowerPoint and Visio. Must be able to write simple and complex SQL queries with table joins and perform data profiling analysis.
+ Familiar with JIRA Issue and Project Tracking application, SDLC phases and process
+ Ability to work with little or no supervision and proven ability to meet established deadlines with demonstrated ability successfully manage multiple priorities and stakeholders under pressure

**Qualifications and Skills**
+ 10+ year of experience in Finance Services
+ BA Required
+ Mastered preferred
