You will be responsible for the successful development and implementation of key critical initiatives and practices targeted at improving safety management of Micron’s extended workforce and compliance for Micron Technology, Inc., operations globally. The successful candidate will provide leadership, direction, education, and overall strategic management of the company’s extended workforce and initiatives related to safety and compliance. This position will lead and provide technical guidance/advice to the sites, staff, and senior management on safety and regulatory development matters related to safety regarding areas under their purview.
Primary Job Responsibilities Include:
Provide leadership and direction on extended workforce (contractor and vendor) safety management practices across the network.Improve safety awareness and ensure compliance to aligned and standardized extended workforce (contractor and vendor) safety management practices based on Micron’s safe work practices and fatality prevention programs.Develop and supervise risks associated with extended workforce activitiesImplement industry standard methodologies on the extended workforce managementLead curriculum for vendor orientation across the network, including collaboration with other departments to ensure that minimum expectations are communicated in a detailed and timely mannerBuild business processes that improve collaboration between extended workforce contractors and vendors and Micron’s network of safety professionalsPerform compliance audits and support implementation of follow-up corrective actions to validate compliance with Micron requirements or other local legal regulationsFollow up on incident investigations for Life Altering and potential Life Altering Injuries and recommend network corrective actionsSupport Live Safe focusing on activities related to the extended workforceEstablish and lead key performance indicators to measure the efficiency of the contractor and vendor management systemResolve sophisticated matters regarding issue that may come up with regard to the safety management of contractors and vendors, including use of required data and collaborating with different departmentsPromote and implement Micron’s EHS PolicyAccept other duties as assignedQualifications:
Extensive experience with leading contractors and vendors, hazard assessments, incident investigations and training developmentExperience in building safety culture programs for sites across multiple geographiesStrong technical expertise in safety program management and EHS Management Systems, in multi-national corporationsProven track record to comfortably work across interpersonal boundaries and geographiesAbility to reliably collaborate with cross-functional organizations to understand needs and translate them into actionable plans, results, and resource requirementsAbility to be guided by business objectives and best methods for delivering resultsDemonstrated proficiency in independently completing sophisticated tasksExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to adapt to a multifaceted environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProven facilitation skills including influencing othersProficient digital literacy including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and ExcelEducation Required:
B.S. degree in Occupational Health Safety, or equivalent experience, required.
Experience Required:
