Global Export Operations Manager

The Manager of Global Export Trade Compliance plays a vital role in providing governance, oversight and execution direction to leadership and key customers involved in Regulatory Compliance for the Test and Measurement business!  This position will work closely with the Director of Regulatory Compliance to ensure all trade compliance activities; including screening, export classification, country of origin and marking determination, policies and procedures development, department training and other standards as advised; are fully implemented within the business. They will be expected to work effectively with other departments to help facilitate legal export transactions and provide guidance in government regulations related to trade compliance.
 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Promote One Emerson core values while supporting the Company’s objectives.  Enable the ethical execution of legal business opportunities, proactively mitigating risk and reducing cost.  Collaborate and coordinate with Business’ International Trade Compliance Managers/Leaders ITC Officers/Executive Sponsors and Liaisons to develop, implement and maintain effective, efficient and consistent global trade compliance programs.  Coordinate the adoption, development and implementation of One Emerson Regulatory Compliance standards.  Provide business support in areas of training, auditing and overall program development.  Serve as a compliance liaison in Archer to support the timely and effective closure of open compliance improvement plans.  Conduct routine communication sessions with senior management on status of site compliance programs and work in collaboration with global and regional Regulatory Compliance staff in progressing requirements.  Proactively look for value opportunities in support of other departments, including but not limited to Procurement, Logistics, IT, R&D, Shipping, Finance, and Engineering.  Coordinate site visits, training days and integrate new acquisitions as applicable.  Develops and provides training for export analysts and cross-functional employees. Develops training modules for Test & Measurement employees and for distribution and supply chain partners to ensure awareness of U.S. export compliance regulations and processes. Develops and implements distributor/partners audit program and track improvements. Develops and implements standard export processes across sites to ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations, including vital licenses, through daily operations.  Lead export licenses: Oversee the application and renewal process for export licenses, ensuring that all vital documentation is accurate and complete. Engage in corporate priorities Strategy Cascades meetings: In line with corporate and organizational objectives, develop the export compliance team's yearly strategy and goals, and secure endorsement from the Global Trade Compliance Director. Establish performance benchmarks for regional teams: Based on annual goals, assist and mentor regional export managers or export group leaders in creating tailored training plans for all analysts. Ensures adequate End of Quarter staffing. Lead third party export screening tool to ensure proper export screening. Works with internal IT teams to fix bugs/enhance export screening systems.  Ensure operational support for compliance with US, EU, APAC specific export control regimes. Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk through audits and periodic reviews. Develops and implements corrective action plans and procedures for resolution of these issues. Act as functional leader, distribute global cross-functional projects: Assign export team members to global cross-functional projects according to their expertise, ensuring sufficient resources are allocated for project support. Work under the direction of the Trade Compliance Director to support external government agency audits, investigations, reviews and disclosures.

     For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in International Trade, Legal, Business, Finance or related field with relevancy to a compliance role Excellent oral and written English language skills, other languages are an advantage 7+ years of direct experience in a multi-national Regulatory Compliance related field 5+ years direct experience supervising and leading people, projects and/or programs Strong coaching & mentoring skills Comfortable to work with senior management Sound MS Office skills Working knowledge of JDE, Oracle, E2Open and TradeSphere Exporter Detailed knowledge of U.S. export control rules and regulations as administered by the Department of Commerce and Department of State Working knowledge of Anti-Corruption legislation and due diligence processes  Experience working in region and with local regulatory authorities Ability to travel 15%+ for success in the role   Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Experience with Aerospace, Defense and Government industries a plus   Our Offer To You:
