The Global Head of Procurement and Planning is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the procurement of raw materials, finished goods, and services necessary for the company’s operations. They also ensure that production planning aligns with business needs, optimizing costs and meeting deadlines. This role involves international responsibilities, business process standardization, and strong integration with the global supply chain.
This position requires a blend of technical and managerial skills, as well as the ability to adapt to a constantly evolving and international environment. The Supply and Planning Manager plays a critical role in the operational success of the company by ensuring efficient management of procurement and production planning.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)Purchasing Management
Develop and implement procurement strategies on a global scale. Track orders and manage supplier relationships. Monitor stock levels and optimize inventory management.
Production Planning
Create production plans based on sales forecasts and production capacity. Coordinate with production, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure product availability.
Inventory Management
Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overages. Establish performance indicators to evaluate the efficiency of inventory management processes. Analyze data to anticipate needs and adjust inventory levels.
Continuous Improvement and Standardization
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement and planning processes. Standardize business processes across all company entities. Collaborate with production and quality teams to address issues and improve performance.
Team Management
Lead and support the supply and planning team. Set clear objectives and measure team performance. Skills and Minimum Experience RequiredTechnical Skills
Strong understanding of international procurement and supply chain management processes. Deep knowledge of production planning techniques and inventory management. Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain management software.
Interpersonal Skills
Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Team-oriented with the ability to coordinate across departments. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Qualifications
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Production Management, or a related field. Significant professional experience in a similar role, preferably in a production environment. Certification in supply chain management (such as CPSM or APICS) is a plus.
