SAP´s Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is at a pivotal point in its transformation journey and needs to accelerate the execution of more standardized services with a higher degree of automation. We are seeking a dynamic and inclusive leader to take on the role of Global Head of Sourcing Excellence Champions (SEC), driving operational efficiencies and fostering stakeholder relationships to meet SAP’s ambitious growth plans.

 

Reporting directly to the Chief Procurement Officer, the Global Head of Sourcing Excellence Champions will join GPO’s Senior Leadership Team, leading a collaborative team of three regional heads and their respective teams, totaling 55 Buyers. This pivotal role will contribute to manage a global spend of EUR 7bn in partnership with GPO’s category teams. The regional teams support the global strategic category teams by taking various category strategies into consideration in all activities, such as conducting competitive tenders, negotiating contracts, providing advice and guidance to stakeholders/suppliers on procedures & processes, and managing the collaboration with SAP’s Service Delivery Hubs (SSC).

We are seeking a passionate and proactive leader who can:

Drive operational efficiencies by identifying opportunities to streamline and standardizing processes, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiencies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement performance metrics. Lead organizational change initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new standardized procurement processes and technologies. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the procurement function. Leverage data and analytics to drive informed decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement. Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and team members. Communicate effectively and inspire a diverse and global team.

 

What You Will Do

 

Manage, lead, and represent the SEC team while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for your direct reports. Collaboratively balance workload and priorities within the organization, aligning efforts with Category Heads. Actively contribute to and lead the transformation of GPO into an agile procurement organization. Lead and support the execution of GPO's transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment and success. Optimize Operations by evolving our operating model to achieve operational excellence and improve set KPIs. Drive process simplifications along the end-to-end source-to-pay (S2P) process. Further enhance stakeholder satisfaction by leveraging AI technology. Drive organizational performance by setting ambitious goals, providing clear expectations, and rewarding achievements. Build collaborative partnerships with all relevant stakeholders, including category teams and service delivery hubs.

 

What You Will Bring

 

Inspirational Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership skills to develop talents, foster simplicity, and challenge complexity. Change Management Expertise: Extensive experience in transforming and leading change initiatives. Operational Efficiency: Proven track record in delivering operational efficiencies. Global Team Management: Experience in managing and leading diverse global teams. Procurement Expertise: Proficiency in procurement best practices and the end-to-end S2P process. Business Acumen: Superb commercial acumen and negotiation skills. Education: University degree, preferably in Business Administration, IT or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, MCIPS). Communication Skills:   Excellent language and communication skills, with proficiency in English being mandatory.

 

Experience

 

7+ years in Leadership: Professional experience in a leading position, ideally within a multinational environment. 5+ years in Procurement: Procurement management experience in a comparable company or BPO environment. Strong Procurement Background: A solid background in procurement is strongly preferred.
