Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is seeking a Project Manager/Lead for its Global Innovation Effectiveness (GIE) program. In its four-year operation, GIE has established the industry-leading benchmark on innovation capability within the electric utilities sector. GIE works alongside innovation and R&D professionals in the energy industry to apply GIE insights and best practices in order to improve the overall maturity and support outcomes that support company and industry strategies.
The GIE Lead is a strategic position requiring a multi-facilitated skillset and experience to ensure GIE delivers program activities and deliverables in a valuable, timely and customer-centric manner. GIE is an established program with a strong base of support and participation and the Lead will be instrumental to growing the value and reach of the program through expanded analytical capabilities, effective engagement of existing and new members, and development of new offerings to leverage GIE data and insights. EPRI is seeking an experienced leader who brings prior knowledge and expertise in electric industry business innovation, management consulting, organizational change management and/or data analytics.
The GIE Lead will provide operational leadership and accountability for the program and team and be the point of engagement for member organizations. The position is highly visible and requires a wide capability-set coupled with a strong foundation of energy industry operations, business models and value chains, organizational dynamics and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Execute, iterate and envision the GIE program strategy to ensure delivery aligns with program objectives, member value and EPRI’s public benefit mission.
Monitor key performance indicators and track progress towards overall program objectives, ensuring mitigation steps are taken in a strategic and timely manner.
Provide team leadership and oversight for program operations including virtual and in-person programming, multiple, parallel member-focused project delivery, sales/business development activities and program budget/finance activities.
Establish, foster and maintain strong relationships and rapport with program members, EPRI colleagues and industry networks.
Ensure sales & marketing activities are effective at attracting new participants to the program through clear and differentiated value propositions.
Conceive and bring to fruition new offerings and applications that leverage GIE capabilities, data and insights in order to grow member value.
Lead the strategy and execution of events and programming that support effective knowledge transfer including bi-monthly webinars and an annual in-person forum.
Ensure program communications are effectively managed to build awareness, transparency and ease of information-sharing.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Masters or Ph.D. in a social science, business and/or technical domain preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
7-10 years of experience in one, or a combination, of the following areas:
Business innovation, continuous improvement and research management
Management consulting focused in strategy, business process management and/or organizational development
Organizational development, training and employee development
Data analytics and insights generation focused on organizational capabilities and process management
Diagnostic development, survey fielding and benchmarking
Demonstrated project management capabilities in managing delivery of multiple projects in parallel
Demonstrated budget, finance and accounting capabilities at the project and/or program-level
Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities
Preferred experience with direct management of individual contributors
Preferred experience with sales/business development and relationship management
The salary range for this position is $129,200 USD to $152,250 USD annually.This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program.
