Are you passionate about research and generating investment ideas? We’re looking for a professional to join our Financial Institutions coverage team in Australia, to focus on the Insurance and Diversified Financials sectors and to develop valuable insights and investment ideas for our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Building strong industry knowledge across a broad range of Insurance/ Financial InstitutionsBuilding, maintaining and updating company and industry modelsAnalyzing market share, macro trends and cross company and sub sector data analysisInterpreting data and performing analysis on market, economic and technology trendsAssisting in compilation and writing thematic sector and company research reports and investment recommendations for our clientsResponding to ad hoc requests from clients, sales and tradersDeveloping relationships with internal and external clients including company Investor Relations departments, and handling requests for information from clients and other Goldman Sachs divisions
 

Basic Qualifications

University degree (Actuarial, Finance and accounting majors preferable) with strong academic credentials. FIAA / CFA qualifications desirable.1-3 years of relevant work experience in Actuarial, accounting, finance or research.Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent analytical, numerical, organizational, and creative skills Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Ability to work/conduct independently and with limited supervision Meticulous attention to detailPassionate about the Insurance sector and willingness to learn about its technical aspects
 

Preferred Qualifications

Strong numerical skills with ability to perform financial statement, business and valuation analysisActuarial/Accounting/financial experience preferredDemonstrated ability to think laterally and exercise good judgment Self-starter attitude with high level of enthusiasm for equity research Natural curiosity, critical thinking, logical thinkingStrong communicator in writing and verbally
